If you follow me on Instagram or have been reading Ellis Tuesday for years now, you will likely have spotted my mum pop up in quite a few Instagram Stories and blog posts. We travel together, binge watch our favourite shows together and she really is my best friend. And with Mother's Day fast approaching, I wanted to share a few ways to appreciate and celebrate your mum, grandmother or even a new mum in your friend group this year.
If your mum is anything like mine and always says that she doesn't need anything when it comes to her birthday, Christmas or Mother's Day, these are the kind of gift ideas that she will no doubt appreciate. Plus, they might just be the kind of thing that she wouldn't ordinarily treat herself to. And I was able to find them all on Very.co.uk's specially curated gifting page, which made it even easier to scroll through and find ideas without feeling too overwhelmed. It also saves you from having to worry about placing multiple orders on different websites or visiting a number of shops in-person, only to find that they don't have what you're looking for.
My mum also isn't a big fan of receiving a bouquet of flowers as a gift, and I totally understand that. She always hates to see them wither away and eventually have to be thrown out, which is why I've prioritised gifts that she can use and treasure all year round.

A different take on a bouquet of flowers
A new womens perfume or fragrance is always a nice idea. And even though there are so many great new releases and beloved choices, as soon as I saw the brilliant bottle, or should I say cap, on this Daisy Wild Eau So Intense Eau de Parfum, I knew that I was on to a winner. My mum has quite a few Marc Jacobs fragrances already and they are her go-tos, so I knew that she would be so happy to receive this one. And how can you say no to a gorgeous bottle like this one?
Available in three different sizes - 30ml, 50ml and 100ml - this is a fantastic way to gift flowers that she can keep on her bedroom vanity or in her bathroom cabinet to show off and use every day.

Some special keepsakes
She also doesn't treat herself to jewellery all that often, so I thought that Katie Loxton Mother's Day range could work well. She personally likes silver jewellery, but the special Mother's Day earrings, necklaces and bracelets also come in gold, and they have specially designed ones for a range of mums, making it such a foolproof gift.
I also adore the ones that say mum and daughter or mum and son. And at less than £35 for the bracelet gift set, and less than £20 for the other items, you don't need to break the bank either to add them to your basket.

Something cosy
If you saw my Valentine's and Galentine's Day gift guide this year, I made sure to include a cosy dressing gown, and a pair of snug slippers is another brilliant gift idea for mums. Again, my mum would never splurge on a pair of UGG slippers herself, so she was over the moon to open up the box and be met with this beautiful chestnut brown pair. But Very.co.uk also have so many great womens slippers from brands such as TOTES, Just Sheepskin, Chelsea Peers, Boux Avenue and their own V by Very range.
Slippers are also the kind of gift that she can get a lot of practical use out of, each and every day, instead of being something that sits on a shelf or is only used once or twice, too.
So, how do you think I did with my picks? Is your mum, gran or mother figure tricky to shop for? Or how do you plan to celebrate them?
