Whether you've got a summer holiday, trip, or even an upcoming day out planned, there are a few simple additions that can completely transform your experience. And today I'm sharing my summer tech essentials from Very.co.uk.
Now, if you saw my Postcards From Paris blog post or follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I was in Paris during the recent heatwave. With temperatures topping 34 degrees each and every day, it was a struggle to stay cool, to say the least. I did have a little rechargeable fan with me, and while it did help for a couple of minutes, after that it just started to recirculate the same hot, humid air. So, as soon as I got home and saw that Shark had released a 3-in-1 fan system, I knew that it would be the perfect addition to my handbag for summer travels or warm, sunny days here in the UK. And I cannot explain how much of a game changer it has been.
In addition to being a high-speed fan, with 10 speed settings at that, it has two very helpful features which make it stand out from traditional handheld fans. First, there's the mist setting which releases an ultra-fine mist of water to cool you down. As I say, I so wish that I had had this with me in Paris. It's a fine enough mist that it doesn't leave you feeling soaked or mess up your hair or makeup. Yet, it gives you the most refreshing sensation on a hot day. Speaking of refreshing, if you're prone to overheating or get hot flushes, the InstaChill cooling plate is incredible.
Basically, it's an ice cold metal plate which you can apply directly to any warm or overheated areas and it really does cool down the skin and provide such a relief. Placing it against my neck or cheeks, which is where I often feel the heat the most, cools me down in a matter of minutes.
I went for the pink Dragon Fruit hue, but it's also available in a fantastic range of colours. And as I say, this is now going to be a must whenever I travel or head out on a warm and sunny day.
Now, I'm also prone to taking hundreds of photos wherever I go. However, despite that and how many great days out and holidays I've had in recent years, I don't know the last time that I printed a single photo. It was probably when I was still in high school, so almost two decades ago, when my dad got a photo printer.
Well, that changes now and let's just say, this isn't your typical instant or digital camera either. I love the idea of physically printing out some of the most special, and everyday, memories. Just think of all the photos that are sitting on your phone, too. And as someone who has been saying for years that they'd like to put together a little scrapbook with some of their favourite travel memories, I will now be able to do that without having to worry about finding somewhere to print them when I get back.
Not only does the Fujifilm InstaxMini Evo Hybrid Instant Camera look incredibly cool, but it gives you the option to edit and add filters to the shot before printing, which makes the experience all the more handy. The same with being able to decide if you want to print a specific shot or not. As someone who doesn't have the best luck when someone else whips out an instant camera -- why are my eyes always closed? -- this is another standout feature.
And as an added bonus, the accompanying Instax Mini Evo app allows you to save each printed image in digital format, so you can then share it on your socials or add it into a collage that way.
