Glasgow is a gorgeous city with a lot of culture, diversity, history and striking architecture. And it’s only made ten times better by the abundance of amazing events going down each and every day.

But when there’s so much on, how do you know where to start? How do you narrow it down to the events that you’ll actually be interested in? It can be tricky. So to help you make the most out of the second half of 2022, we gathered the best events to attend in Glasgow to help you out. Take a look:

Consumed Interactive Climate Change Exhibition  

When: Friday 12th - Thursday 18th August 2022

Where: George Square, Glasgow

This free public exhibition is coming to Glasgow’s beautiful George Square. The purpose is to teach us about climate change and the impact our throwaway culture is having on the world we live in. With games and interactive displays, Consumed shines a light on the issues our world faces in an engaging and interesting way. Themes include food, fashion, and “stuff” in this exhibition by Zero Waste Scotland and Edinburgh Science.

All You Can Eat Sushi at Cranside Kitchen 

When: Saturday 20th August 2022

Where: Nori, Cranside Kitchen, Glasgow

Unlimited sushi? We'll be there! Cranside Kitche is a venue that houses Nori, a beautiful, modern restaurant that’s serving unlimited delicious sushi dishes in the heart of Glasgow this August. Head down early with your friends to enjoy an Aperol spritz in the sun before enjoying some fresh sushi from a special menu, including some premium dishes. It’ll be a lovely day out with the girls, without breaking the bank!

Intermission  

When: Saturday 20th August 2022

Where: House For An Art Lover, Glasgow

Here’s one for you artsy lot! Intermission is the closing event of HO.RR, which brings moving image initiatives including film workshops, screening events, panel talks, performance-based workshops and more to Glasgow. Intermission presents films and work developed over HO.RR’s residency using a multi-projection installation. It’s entirely free and will no doubt be a treat for anyone who appreciates visual arts.

Rotunda Comedy Club 

When: Multiple nights on Fridays and Saturdays, August - October

Where: Rotunda Comedy Club, Glasgow

Rotunda Comedy Club brings the UK’s best award-winning comedians to the people of Glasgow every week. The lineup changes each night, so you can discover three or more new comedians at each event. If you want to make a proper night out of it, choose the ticket that allows you to order food from their authentic Greek-Cypriot menu. Or take it up another step with the VIP prosecco booth for a cracking night out with the girls that'll leave your belly sore from laughing. 

The Rocky Horror Tribute Show 

When: Saturday 29th October and Sunday 30th October 2022

Where: 18 Candleriggs (Formerly Wild Cabaret), Glasgow

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is undeniably iconic. Everyone knows it, even 40 years on. And the UK's leading live action tribute is coming to Glasgow this October. Stick on your fishnets and a wig and head over for a wild show. Go on the on the Saturday to enjoy the exclusive after party too, or just head over on the Sunday to witness one of the greatest movies live. Expect legendary songs, dancing, plenty of audience participation, and obviously fancy dress.

GlasGLOW

When: winter, date to be announced 

Where: Botanic Gardens, Glasgow

GlasGLOW is back at the Botanic Gardens this winter! As the biggest light and sound show in Scotland, it's a huge event. Besides the stunning lights put together by artists and designers, there will also be food and drink trucks to enjoy. And this year's theme is The Land That Time Forgot, with dinosaurs coming to life, volcanoes threatening to erupt and jeopardy around every corner, this is one night that will keep both adults and children captivated.
