versed skincare reviews

Versed Skincare are a brand that I have wanted to try for such a long time. So you can imagine just how excited I was to find out that their range is now available at Boots.

For some reason, buying from Boots instead of Cult Beauty, for example, doesn't feel like I'm spending quite as much money. I think it has something to do with being able to spend and accrue Boots Advantage Card points and picking things up in person. But enough about about my spending psychology, let's get onto today's blog post; trying Versed Skincare for the first time.

As I just mentioned, Versed Skincare is now available at Boots and has been available at Cult Beauty for a while now too.

So let's see what I thought of the products that I've tried so far from Versed Skincare;

Versed Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm (£16.50)

Now this is one of the most hyped products from the range. But sadly I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. I think I might just need to admit to myself that I am not a cleansing balm kinda girl. I completely understand that balms are designed to be used in a two step cleansing routine. But this just left my skin feeling really greasy and laden with product.

I didn't even truly put this to the test by taking off a full face of makeup. All I was looking to remove was my SPF and it still felt like there was some product left there or maybe it was just the greasiness of the balm that was left over. Either way, I could tell after just two uses that this cleanser wasn't for me. I know some people are big fans of this product so if you love a good cleansing balm, it might still be worth trying. But it just didn't work for me.

Versed Dew Point Moisturizing Gel-Cream (£13.50)

This is such a nice lightweight moisturiser. If you have oilier or combination skin, this should be a go-to for you. Whereas for those of us with dry/dehydrated skin, you might need something thicker for the colder months. I've already got my eye on the Versed Skin Soak Rich Moisture Cream for that. But for the warmer months, this really is ideal.

It's super gentle on the skin and doesn't irritate it either, which seems to be an attribute that all their products share. It doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy and the gel texture is just so light and cooling. I've tried a lot of gel based moisturisers in the past and this is easily my favourite, particularly when you take into consideration the price. And you can even get a little travel size of it for £6.50 on Cult Beauty, in case you want to test it out before fully committing to the 60ml size.

Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol Serum (£20)

Now this is easily my favourite product from the range and I can now safely say that I have found my holy grail retinol. If, like me, you're wary of using too strong a retinol, this is the product for you. It is incredibly gentle, so much so that I haven't experienced any redness or irritation, when I've experienced both from other retinols that I've tried.

This is definitely a entry level/beginners retinol, so if you are looking for something with more punch, this might might not be for you. But I am such a fan! My skin looks so much healthier and some of the little fine lines that I was starting to see on my forehead, as a 29 year old, are looking better already. And I've been using it for a little shy of a month. Always remember to apply an SPF during the day when using retinol. Or, as I'm also about to discuss, acids.

Versed Day Maker Microcrystal Exfoliator (£15.50)

Even though I've been trying to use more chemical exfoliants than physical ones in recent years, I was really intrigued when I saw this product. This gets rid of any dry patches or uneven texture without irritating my skin in the slightest.

It's also one of the first physical exfoliators that has left my skin feeling hydrated, as most tend to leave my skin feeling stripped or parched. This has an almost creamy texture to it that I really like. Hello super soft skin at a really reasonable price point!

Versed Weekend Glow Brightening Solution (£16.50)

But of course I had to try the chemical exfoliator too and I really like this as well. I don't have a lot of hyperpigmentation, which is what this is designed for. So I can't comment on how it works on that. But this, in conjunction with some of the other products in today's post, has helped keep texture at bay on my forehead, nose and cheeks.

It does remind me of Pixi's Glow Tonic, in a good way, as it leaves your skin with that very noticeable glow. Plus, you know how much I love a good applicator and this pump system makes dispensing it so easy and mess-free.

Versed Just Breathe Clarifying Serum (£18)

Now this can often be pretty difficult to get your hands on on Cult Beauty. But I managed to track mine down in my local Boots. When it comes to spots and blemishes, I normally go in with a targeted treatment like La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo + or the new INKEY List Succinic Acid. So this was the first time that I used a serum like this with a pipette applicator.

But this has been a serious gamechanger for those under the skin angry bumps that take ages to get rid of. It calms down the area and works particularly well overnight. When I wake up the area or spot in question is no longer bright red, risen and sore to the touch. It does have a slight tackiness to it but I can let that slide. I can see this being a staple for those with oily skin or acne prone skin. But for me it is a great one-off treatment when my skin truly needs it.

As I say, I've found some absolute favourite products that I can see me using for some time now. Given the fact that so many brands were exclusive to the US, it still blows my mind that we can now buy them in the UK.

Have you tried or wanted to try anything from Versed Skincare? What do you think of the sound of the products that I included in today's blog post? And have you tried any beauty products recently that have fast become favourites for you?
