Over the years I've put so many different face masks to the test. From sheet masks to peel off, clay and even glitter ones, some were hits and some were real misses.
So I thought that I would share my top ten face mask picks, for every skin type and budget in today's post.

Problem skin
Whether you've got acne-prone skin, T-Zone issues or live somewhere where your skin is exposed to pollution, these are the masks to help with just that;
Bobbi Brown Instant Detox Masque* (£33)
This is without a doubt the best clay mask that I've ever tried and is great if you have any oil overproduction. My skin feels incredibly clean after using this and if you have enlarged pores or redness, this gets to work on both, without drying out the skin. If you haven't delved into Bobbi Brown skincare before (see some of my reviews here), you are seriously missing out, as they have so many incredible skincare products.
Pixi T-Zone Peel-Off Mask* (£18)
When it comes to T-Zone issues, this is the only time that I opt for a peel off mask and this one from Pixi is my favourite. Other peel off masks can strip the skin and this doesn't in the slightest. Plus it literally draws out the impurities (yup you can see blackheads come away with it and more) and it helps with any congestion you might have. This is also ideal for combination skin types.
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque* (£9.90)
Instead of using this all over like a traditional mask, I use this as a spot treatment but on bad skin days it can cover most of my chin. It can tingle a little but it's not unbearable or sore, if that makes sense. But when it does what it does, you really can't complain. Nothing works better on big angry spots and breakouts that pop up and the difference it makes to redness, irritation and even soreness is pretty unbelievable.

Pixi GLOW Glycolic Boost Sheet Mask (£10 for pack of 3)
Even though I have more sheet masks than my local Superdrug, I'm not actually the biggest sheet mask fan. However, these Glow Tonic infused sheet masks from Pixi are the exception. They're particularly handy for taking with you when you're travelling and give you all the benefits of Pixi's iconic Glow Tonic in mask form.
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask (£50)
I've been desperate to try this Peter Thomas Roth Mask and the best way to do so and to try a few more masks from the brand, is with this handy little travel sized set.
There's a reason why the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask is as highly regarded as it is. The combination of physical and chemical exfoliants makes this a mask that instantly makes such a big difference to the texture of the skin and how bright it looks. I'll definitely be picking up the full size once this little tube is finished!
Bobbi Brown Radiance Boost Masque* (£33)
If you've got sensitive skin, this really gentle radiance boosting mask from Bobbi Brown is the one for you. It's effective at removing any dead skin without damaging the skin barrier or causing irritation. It also smells incredible and works really well on the lips too, particularly if you struggle with chapped or dry lips.
Hello hydration
Whether your skin is dry/dehydrated or just in desperate need of some added moisture in the colder weather, these are my two absolute go-tos;
Fresh Rose Face Mask (£21 - £52)
If you have dry skin, Fresh's entire rose range is amazing but this mask takes hydration to a whole different level. First of all, this is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of real roses suspended in the formula. It's also really refreshing on the skin and leaves it feeling insanely smooth.
Kiehl's Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque (£44)
When Kiehl's say that this mask is soothing, they really do mean it. It's really lightweight but packs a punch. It also absorbs into the skin nicely and feels even better when you store it in the fridge. I even have a little mini of this that I always take with me on holidays as it is just so cooling on the skin. This is particularly true if you've gotten too much sun, which as a fair skinned redhead, can happen rather easily.
Overnight wonders
If you prefer to let your skincare routine get to work whilst you're asleep, be sure to check these two out;
LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask ($25)
I picked this Sleeping Mask up from Sephora last year, after being immediately intrigued by this and the Lip Sleeping Mask from the brand. And this is a lovely mask that leaves your skin feeling super soft in the morning. At $25/just over £20, it's a bit of a bargain for me too.
Hopefully somewhere like Space NK will pick up the brand soon. The Revolution Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Overnight Mask is also a great budget alternative, which is much more readily available here in the UK.
Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Hydrating Mask (£44)
This has quickly become one of my favourite beauty buys ever, with it only launching at the start of January. But it is SO good! It's almost unbelievable how good your skin feels the next morning. Basically, if you have really dry or parched skin, you need this in your life ASAP!
