On my recent trip to the US, there were a couple of things right at the top of my wishlist. And they all basically came from one place; the Target haircare aisle. And more specifically, the Kristin Ess section.
If you didn't know already, thankfully we can now get our hands on the Kristin Ess range at Feel Unique and Boots here in the UK. *Hallelujah!*
SOME KRISTIN ESS TO TRY NEXT
But here's what I managed to pick up from Target on this trip to the US;

Kristin Ess Scalp Scrub
At the very top of my Kristen Ess wishlist was her Scalp Scrub. My scalp can often get quite irritated and itchy at times. But I also worry about doing further damage with scrubs. Thankfully there was nothing to worry about with this one as it's really gentle on my scalp. But somehow it's still textured enough to get rid of flakes and any product build up.
It comes with a great applicator, which I didn't even realise it had when I originally bought it. Which made it quite the pleasant surprise. It allows you to really get into those hard to reach areas and make sure that the product is actually applied to the scalp. And not just all over your hair. I would 100% recommend this scrub and hope that it's just taking its time in making its way over to the UK stockists.
Kristin Ess Bubble Mask
Now this sounded like it might be a bit of a novelty product, in the fact that it crackles and pops on your scalp as you apply it. But I had a few minutes to decide whether to grab it or put it back one evening in Target. And I'm so glad that I did. If you saw my What I Bought From Sephora In NYC & Miami Haul blog post, you'll already know that I pretty much fell for the new OUAI After Sun Body Soother for the exact same reason. But this bubble mask is no novelty!
I took a travel size of the Tresemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo away with me. And it was rather harsh on my scalp, to say the least, over the week or so that I was away. My scalp definitely needed some TLC when I got home. So I was very keen to immediately put this to the test. You apply this to your scalp just before you go in for a shower and then wash it out. After just one wash my scalp felt a whole lot less itchy. And the smell! Well the smell, along with the rest of Kristin's haircare line, is just unreal! I can't get enough of it! And I'm hoping that she may one day release it as a perfume, in a similar vein to OUAI.
Kristin Ess Micellar Shampoo
I've got to admit, I was completely sold on this bottle of shampoo solely because of the applicator. Now, I don't tend to splurge on shampoo but I thought that I would give this a try. Sadly I wasn't blown away by it. It didn't leave my hair or scalp feeling as clean as I thought it would, especially as it's supposed to be a purifying shampoo. It's not terrible but I have better drugstore shampoos to choose from in my bathroom cabinet at the moment.
I am, however, intrigued to try some of her other shampoos to see what they're like.

Kristin Ess Frizz Management Cleansing Conditioner
Since I never, ever finish my conditioner at the same time as my shampoo (does anyone manage to do this?), I've probably been using the same bottle of conditioner for about six months (or more!). So I decided to treat myself to a new one and this frizz management conditioner sounded right up my street. My hair is naturally quite candy floss-like if I do nothing to it. So I was keen to put this to the test.
If you have naturally curly or wavy hair, this is for you! Again, it smells incredible and doesn't leave your hair feeling greasy or laden with product like some other conditioners do. I'm certainly happy that I picked it up.

Kristin Ess Air Dry Creme
I try to let my hair dry naturally 99% of the time. So anything that aids me in doing so is a welcome addition to my routine.
My hair looked and felt so soft and shiny after using this, unusually so! I've tried lots of air dry style products and none of them have ever particularly impressed me. But this cream is on a whole other level! And it's definitely another one that I would 100% recommend trying out.
If you've got a trip to the US planned anytime soon, I would really recommend seeking out the nearest Target to you. Both because it's one of my favourite stores in the US anyway. And because the Kristin Ess range is well worth trying.

Have you heard of the Kristin Ess haircare range before? Which of the products that I managed to pick up would you like to try? And did you know that Kristin Ess is available at Feel Unique and Boots here in the UK?
