With the sun making more of an appearance recently and sun damage being a key factor in the aging process, I've been making a real effort to apply sun protection to my face and neck every day. As I tend to switch between three or four different facial SPFs, none of which I tend to use religiously, I can sometimes forget to apply any sun protection before heading out for the day, whether it's blindingly sunny or overcast and showery. But that's where the Dermalogica Prisma Protect SPF30* has come into play.

Putting it to the test...
First of all, there's no traditional white cast, which is what normally puts me off using a facial SPF. And it feels more like a moisturiser, than anything else, because of how hydrating it is. It also protects the skin from pollution and free radicals, in addition to traditional UV rays.
However, it's not just a product concerned with sun protection. What really piqued my interest in Prisma Protect was the promise of 'light-activated technology' and 'boosting the skin's natural luminosity'. And I have to say, I do notice a visible difference in how bright my skin looks when wearing it.
Part of it is definitely due to the hydrating quality of this cream. But I can see an overall evening out of my skintone when I apply it. Perfect for those days when you don't want to apply makeup, particularly when you're on holiday. When you do wear makeup, this doesn't interfere with it in the slightest. It just goes on like a normal moisturiser.
It also has the benefit of being vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, gluten-free and contains no artificial colours or fragrances.

After a number of years of going between a few different facial SPFs and ultimately forgetting to apply them before leaving the house, I'm really happy to have found Dermalogica Prisma Protect. It was only released in March of this year so if you haven't seen it in stores or online until now, it's definitely one to check out, particularly if you still haven't found your go-to daily SPF.
Do you use sun protection on a daily basis? If so, which one do you use? And would you like to see more stand alone beauty product reviews like this one?
