When it comes to my everyday makeup, I now have a go-to look, using only a handful of products. And it just makes life so much easier, particularly when you're still half asleep in the morning.
It all started when I booked in for a free how-to lesson at my local Bobbi Brown counter. If you didn't already know, they do lessons on how to pick out the perfect foundation, how to prep and prime the skin and much more. But the one that I went for was how to look less tired makeup lesson, because who doesn't want to look like they've had a lot more sleep than they actually have?
Plus, there are certain days each month where their PRO makeup artists will be at a counter near you. I had the pleasure of having my appointment with PRO artist Zara Findlay. And I picked up so many tips and tricks from her, along with being shown exactly how to use the products to get the most out of them.
SHOP THE POST
So I though that I would show you how quick and easy this look is to achieve. Plus, why some of these products have gained holy-grail status in my makeup bag, in today's blog post. And here it is;

Apply a hydrating eye cream and let me introduce you to Face Base
I finally feel like I need to use an eye cream (I'll be 28 in a few weeks time) and honestly, this is the only eye cream I've tried that hasn't immediately, or eventually, started to irritate my eyes. The Extra Eye Repair Cream* is more like a balm in texture, which I really like, plus it gives the under eye moisture whilst tackling fine lines, puffiness and dark circles, all in one go.
If you haven't tried Bobbi Brown's much loved Vitamin Enriched Face Base*, you are seriously missing out. I never really use a primer, as that extra step just adds more time to already rushed mornings. But Face Base feels like you're applying moisturiser when really it is a moisturiser and primer combined. Plus, it just smells incredible! If you've ever tried it you'll know exactly what I mean.

Apply the Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm
Now this is a nifty product and gives your skin so much glow and luminosity. You can either use it on the tops of your cheekbones to give some gorgeously glowing and natural looking highlight or you can mix it with your foundation or you can use it as a primer. You can also wear it on its own, making it incredibly versatile.
When wearing it on its own, it just leaves your skin looking so hydrated and dewy. Perfect for those days or holidays when you don't want to wear makeup but still need a little something on the skin.

Pat on some Corrector
Now, this is without a doubt my favourite makeup product of all time! In a matter of seconds you can neutralise dark circles, redness and discolouration. This is key to the how to look less tired makeup look. Really focus on the inner corner of the eye and pat instead of swiping or buffing in.
Using the Corrector* also means that you only need to use a fraction of your usual concealer amount.
Follow up with concealer as needed
On days when my skin isn't acting up, I'm happy to apply a few dots of concealer and go. The Instant Full Cover Concealer can be used both for the under eyes and for any blemishes or redness that you'd like to cover.
For more coverage, the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation* is perfect. Firstly, it's actually pale enough for someone as fair skinned as I am. Which is quite a feat in itself. But it also leaves your skin looking like skin and is so weightless you'll forget that you're wearing it.
Add some colour to the face
You can either use one of their brilliant Pot Rouges or do what I do and apply one of the Crushed Liquid Lips on the cheeks as a blush. It sounds like it won't work but trust me it does. BB Pro Zara taught me this trick and it saves you even more time in the morning.
You can also alternatively use the Pot Rouges on the lips too. Talk about multitasking!

Quickly fill in brows
Give your brows a brush and fill in as needed. The Perfectly Defined Long-Wear Brow Pencil* makes this really quick and easy.
Use a Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick & Mascara to open up the eyes
If you saw My Most Loved Beauty Products Of 2019 blog post, you'll know just how much I love their Long-Wear Cream Shadow Sticks and the shade Golden Pink is universally beautiful on the lids. Finish with a coat of your mascara and look at the difference it can make.

Apply a tinted lip balm
I love a good tinted lip balm, again as you will have seen in that best beauty products of 2019 post. So I was really excited to try Bobbi Brown's Extra Lip Balm Tint*. And I already can't wait to try more colours (the Bare Raspberry and Bare Punch shades in particular look gorgeous). The Bare Pink shade enhances your natural lip colour and brings out more of the pink in your lips in such a lovely way.

So there's how I achieve my everyday look with my favourites from Bobbi Brown.
Are you all about quick and easy makeup or do you put in a lot of work in the morning? What do you think of the 'how to look less tired' makeup look? And did you know that Bobbi Brown do free how-to lessons?
