candles to gift this christmas

This year there have been some great candle releases. So if you're struggling with what to get someone or you've ended up with someone in the Secret Santa that you don't know particularly well, I feel like a candle is always a pretty safe bet. Which is why today I'm going to be sharing 7 of my favourite candles to gift this Christmas. From the likes of NEOM, Lush, Bath & Body Works and some smaller independent brands and candlemakers.

And here they are;

Lush Snow Fairy 4 Wick Candle (£35)

If you know me, you know how much I adore the limited edition Lush Snow Fairy scent. In previous years I've bought and received it as a gift in everything from the original shower gel to the body spray, bubble bar and body conditioner. But this year, the geniuses at Lush have created it in candle form and I feel like I might need to stock up on several of these to get me through the year. It has that trademark super sweet Snow Fairy fragrance, plus, it smells incredible both when it's lit and even just when it's just sitting there.

Rare Birds Book Smells Bodice Ripper Candle (£20)

You might have already spotted this particular candle in my The Best Bookish Gifts And Books To Gift gift guide but I simply had to mention it again. The entire Book Smells candle range has a candle for every book lover. But this Bodice Ripper one was such an unexpected favourite for me. It smells so incredibly expensive thanks to its beautiful blend of orange, bergamot jasmine and amber. And the packaging is gorgeous too.

Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel 3 Wick Candle (£29.50)

Now, who else is excited that we can finally get Bath & Body Works here in the UK? I certainly am, especially when it comes to the limited edition ranges, such as the holiday ones. If you or the person that you're buying for loves all things vanilla-scented, you simply need to give the entire Vanilla Bean Noel range a smell. Thankfully we have a Bath & Body Works section in Glasgow at the Silverburn Next, so I got to give this a sniff before buying it. And I can't wait to light it over the festive period.

Shearer Candles Tis The Season Triple Wick Candle (£24)

Next we have two local Scottish candle companies. If you're looking for more of a sweeter take on a traditional festive scent, I really love this crimson pear and pomegranate scented candle from Shearer Candles. As you might already be able to tell from my two previous picks, I definitely prefer sweeter or fruitier scents, which is why this is a candle that I try to pick up each Christmas for our living room.

Sorcha Candle Co. Winter Warmer Candle (£28)

Winter Warmer by Sorcha Candle Co. smells just like Christmas morning in front of the fire with a real Christmas tree glistening with baubles and lights in the corner. There are notes of pine, clove and orange. And while I typically opt for triple wick candles when I'm gifting them to someone, this one has a wooden wick, which means that it crackles almost like a log fire to give you a truly warm and cosy feeling whenever you burn it.

NEOM Cosy Nights 3 Wick Scented Candle (£48)

And last but not least, we have two great options from NEOM. Each year they bring out a Christmas collection and Cosy Nights stood out immediately to me. It mixes a rich blend of pure essential oils such as sandalwood, frankincense and nutmeg. And the scent throw that this candle has is also fantastic. Plus, how stunning is the packaging?!

NEOM Ylang Ylang, Vetivert & Tonka Bean 2 Wick Scented Candle (£54)

Speaking of packaging, NEOM's new Precious Candles are housed in containers that were designed to be kept and reused. Available in three spa-like scents, this one aligns with the Scent To De-Stress range and does exactly that. If you're looking for a super relaxing and calming candle to gift to someone this year, this should be the one.

So those are just some of my favourite candles to gift this Christmas.

What is your favourite type of festive scent? Or do you prefer candles that you can burn all year round? And which of my top picks sounds like it could be one that you would gravitate towards?
