gift ideas for the skincare lover

Whether you're looking for Christmas gifting ideas or to treat yourself to something, I think that Christmas is easily the best time to stock up on all things skincare. Normally you can get the product that you'd ordinarily be buying on its own, say a moisturiser. But when you buy it around Christmas, you'll get some extra products or travel sizes included for the exact same price or even cheaper. Buying a Christmas gift set also allows you to try a number of products from a brand without having to spend as much as you would the rest of the year.

So, today I'm sharing my top skincare picks this Christmas, while keeping a range of budgets and brands in mind. Do you love all things skincare? Or are you buying for anyone who loves to look after their skin this year?

Here are some of my absolute favourites;

Gift a whole routine

Whether you're gifting someone who is just starting to dabble with skincare or are looking to top them up with some of their favourites, I think gifting a set that includes a routine of products is a great way to go.

LANEIGE Heavenly Hydration (£30)

LANEIGE have so many fantastic gift sets this year. I mean, how adorable is their Midnight Minis set? And they also have the great Besties set. But the one that caught my eye is the Heavenly Hydration one. It includes three of my favourite products from them. You get their gorgeous Cream Skin Toner & Moisturiser, the lovely Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream and their iconic Lip Sleeping Mask. My dry/dehydrated skin loves these products. So, if you're shopping for someone who needs a bit more hydration in their skincare routine, this is a great one to pick up.

Dr Jart+ Pore-fecting Gift Set (£40)

Now, I cannot rave about these two products highly enough. My pores started to become really pronounced this summer and nothing was helping to decongest and reduce them until I started using the Dr Jart+ Pore Remedy PHA Exfoliating Serum. I feel like many of us will struggle with our pores and these two products are so gentle but super effective. Let's just say, if you or someone you're buying for has been wanting to try Dr Jart+ for a while, this set is perfect for doing exactly that. I also really rate their Ceramidin range too!

Go all out

If money is no option, these are the two sets that would be at the very top of my Christmas list.

Fresh Advent Calendar Gift Set (£289)

Fresh always have some of the best skincare gift sets but its the Fresh Advent Calendar that really caught my eye this year. While I love being able to try a range of different brands in a beauty advent calendar, choosing a brand that you know and love is just as exciting. Fresh's advent calendar has a brilliant mix of full size and travel size products. And even though I've tried and adore a good number of their products, imagine how incredible it would be to try this many!

Augustinus Bader The Winter Radiance System (£170)

I had the pleasure of trying the iconic The Rich Cream from Augustinus Bader earlier this year. And boy is it good! Their The Winter Radiance System would make an incredible introduction to the brand. Or such a luxe gift. Alongside The Rich Cream, there's also a full size The Cleansing Gel and a pack of The Eye Patches. And I know we're not supposed to judge something by its packaging. But how stunning is the gift box that this set comes in?!

American sensations

I always love it when an American brand that has been all over my social media feeds makes it way to the UK. And that's exactly what happened with these two brands in 2023.

Bubble Skincare (from £14)

First up we have Bubble Skincare. I've spotted this range in so many of my favourite American influencer's videos and it is so exciting that we can now get their products in the UK. It's also worth noting that every one of their products is under £20. At the top of my list to try would be the Slam Dunk Hydrating Cream Moisturiser, the Deep Dive AHA+PHA Exfoliating Mask and the Bounce Back Balancing Toner Mist. But there really is something for everyone and skin concern.

rhode The Rhode Kit (£90)

Who hasn't been tempted to try Hailey Bieber's rhode? I feel like I've had the Peptide Glazing Fluid and Peptide Lip Treatments on my wish list forever. This five-piece kit includes the lip treatments in Salted Caramel, Watermelon Slice and Unscented, alongside the Peptide Glazing Fluid and Barrier Restore Cream. As someone who wants to look like a glazed donut when I've finished my skincare, rhode definitely leans into that aesthetic. I have a feeling so many would love to receive this kit under the Christmas tree this year.

The best bath and body

Bath and body gifts always go down well as they're really practical. And these two picks will add a luxurious touch to any bathroom or bedside table.

Space NK's hand and body collection (from £5)

Space NK have just launched their brand new hand and body collection and I cannot rave about these scents highly enough. Inspired by some dreamy destinations, there is the sun-soaked Caribbean Shores, the floral Parisian Gardens and the fresh Nordic Wilds. Each collection contains a hand wash, hand lotion, body crème, body scrub and oil. And if that isn't enough, they also have complementary candles too. I love that you can mix and match what you buy or grab one of the sets or duos. Plus, these would work for a whole host of people, from friends to work colleagues and loved ones of all ages.

Aesop Tuneful Textures (£60)

This is another gift set that would be great for lots of different people. Containing three of Aesop's sumptuous hand products, it's ideal for keeping hands in tip top condition. And there's just something about Aesop's hand washes that elevate the simple task of washing our hands. In addition to Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash, this also comes with the rich Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm and the non-drying Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Wash. This is the kind of gift that my mum would really appreciate, so it may be making its way under the Christmas tree for her.

The must-have skincare tools

CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Face Mask (£299)

While this is a definite splurge, it is the must-have skincare tool at the moment. This would be a fabulous main gift for someone and I personally love mine. If the skincare lover in your life usually spends a small fortune on LED facials, having their own LED mask at home would be such a treat. Not only does this help with anti-ageing but it also works to even out skin tone and texture and brighten the skin. Let's just say, there's a reason why so many celebrities use this specific mask. And if you fancy taking 20% off, my code ELLIS will work on Black Friday.

Beauty Pie Japanfusion Genius Lift Ultra-firming Cryotherapy Set (£45)

If you've not heard of skin icing, or facial cryotherapy, yet, this is the set to get to give it ago. The ice cold cryo globes are ideal for tackling puffiness, boosting circulation and refreshing the skin. I find that my skin gets pretty puffy over the colder months as we go from the bitter cold outdoors to central heating indoors. And the fact that this set comes with a jumbo-size of Beauty Pie's bestselling Genius Lift Elixir means you don't need to worry about which skincare product to use with the globes.

Which skincare brands are your favourites? Are you shopping for any skincare lovers this Christmas? And what do you think of my top picks?
