As one of my goals for 2019 was to explore more of the Scotland, I was so excited when Gretna Gateway Outlet Village invited me along to the opening of their latest store; Neon Sheep.
Only around two hours from Glasgow Central by train, or less by car or bus, I was seriously kicking myself for not visiting sooner.
As someone who loves to shop, I couldn't believe that I hadn't heard of Neon Sheep before. But I was so thankful to Gretna Gateway for introducing me to a shop that was so up my street.
If, like me, you've never visited a Neon Sheep store before or stumbled across their website, you'll find a fantastic mix of stationery, homeware, clothing, gift ideas and more. As you might have seen on my Instagram Stories from the shopping trip (view them here), there were so many incredible things to be found. Basically, those kinds of items that are so easy to add to your basket when shopping, or at least that's the way it is for me. I've done my best to keep the price tags on the items so you can see just how great a price their products usually are. And then what they went down to with the Gretna Gateway outlet prices.
So let's have a look at what I picked up on opening day;
Travel
Since I already have far too many, I tried my best not to get distracted by the plethora of fantastic notebooks. Trust me, there were easily hundreds of different notebooks to choose from! And whilst doing my first lap of the store, I quickly stumbled across the travel section.
As someone who's always saving for their next trip away, I simply had to pick up the Travel Fund bank. I've also been meaning to invest in a memory foam travel pillow and could not resist this galaxy printed one. And how cute is the travel sticker pack?
I may have even picked up a few duplicates of some of my travel picks for an upcoming giveaway. So be sure to check back at the start of December, as I will be celebrating six years of blogging! And I've got a few giveaways planned to coincide.
I've been looking for a travel organiser to keep all my beauty bits in and the fact that this is in my all time favourite pattern; leopard print, meant that it was quickly added to my basket.
I've also been meaning to pick up a mini speaker for ages so this adorable metallic pink speaker was an absolute no brainer.
Fashion
One of the first things that I saw when I walked through the door was the beautiful navy constellation print pouch. This will now be housing my day to day makeup bits going forward. In another shop, it would easily have cost £16 or even £20. So £4 was an absolute bargain! To accompany it they also have fabulous little velvet star sign pouches. I got one for me (Aquarius) and one for my Mum (Pisces).
Then at the back of the store I spotted the amazing leopard print bum bag for just £5.50! I am 100% a bum bag kind of gal and I was so happy to add this one to my collection. I think it will be great for travelling as it's so lightweight but big enough to fit the essentials. And the One In A Million leather look pouch could work either as a clutch, a little pouch within a big handbag or a receipts pouch, which is most likely what I'll be using it for. It also looks so much more expensive than its £5.50 price tag.
Stationery
Whilst I managed to resist buying yet another notebook, I couldn't resist the stationery section altogether.
Even though I'm still not ready to believe that we're only two months away from entering a new year, this beautiful 2020 diary and the price had me adding it to my basket the moment that I saw it. I also love a good list so this huge To Do List pad was such a good buy. As were the cute little sticky note pads. And how good is that birthday card? They had so many fantastic cards to choose from. But I ended up getting a little bit overwhelmed and left with just the one. It definitely gives me a reason to go back. As does my next pick.
Homeware
There were so many beautiful and incredibly affordable homeware pieces to choose from but as I was travelling there by train, I could only really get what I could carry home with me. There was a bit of a casualty on the way home as one of these gorgeous gold flecked glasses broke. Rest in pieces little guy. I might just need to go back and buy more of them and this time take a car. What do we think?
I also picked up these fab marble boxes. You could either use them as gift boxes for those tricky to wrap Christmas gifts. Or do what I'll be doing and use them as storage boxes.
The little one will be the perfect size for all my makeup palettes and individual eyeshadows. Whilst the bigger one will be housing my notebooks, pens and other bits and bobs.
Beauty
I was so excited when I saw that Neon Sheep stock Oh K!, a brand that I've wanted to try for a while. So much so, that I ended up buying all four of the masks that they stock! I can't wait to try them out. Which one would you try first?
And then how could I leave this little cat gel eye mask behind?!
Everyday
Last but not least, I was in dire need of another handy little packable shopping bag. So this adorable flamingo emblazoned one had to come home with me. And I don't think a little trio of food storage boxes have ever summed me up quite like these either! I mean, 'Where's The Food?' and '#Hangry' is me most of the time, to be honest.
So there's what I picked up from the brand new Neon Sheep store at Gretna Gateway Outlet Village.
I'm already looking forward to making a return trip to Gretna soon. It easily reminded me of the brilliant outlet shopping malls that you'll find in the US. You could easily spend a full day there. From grabbing some bargains, to keeping your energy up with a few visits to the Cadbury Factory Shop. And of course, trying to decide which Neon Sheep notebook(s) to pick up.
