I get asked quite often what I use to curl my hair. And many people are shocked and surprised when I say a pair of hair straighteners. Even I realise the oxymoron there. So here is my step by step by step process for curling your hair, whatever the lenghth, with ghds;
- Prep your hair with a heat protection spray. I'm using my go to ghd heat protect spray.
- Section the hair. This is the most important step for me and really recommended if you have long or thick hair.
- Begin curling by taking a section and rotating slightly and gliding the styler downwards.
- Take the next section and repeat but this time rotate in the opposite direction.
- Repeat the third and fourth step until all the sections have been curled.
- If you have a shorter side fringe or front section, rotate this section/sections of hair away from your face with a very slight rotation for a natural look.
- Break up the curls with either your fingers or a large tooth comb so the sections blend together seamlessly.
- Finish with hairspray.
And there you have it!
I would definitely recommend playing around with this technique when you have plenty of time to spare. A lazy Sunday is always my favourite time to try out new makeup and hair looks.
