So I feel like I'm a little late to the party when it comes to primers. I have no idea how I've managed to resist trying out primers for this long. As I have long been intrigued by a number of primers over the years. The prime examples (pardon the pun hehe) being Benefit's The Porefessional, Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion. And I still can't believe I haven't picked up Maybelline's Baby Skin to try it out yet.
So when I saw that Beauty UK, a real favourite bargain beauty brand of mine. Had not one, but two primer products. I knew I just had to try them out and finally hop on the primer bandwagon.
The Prime FX range from Beauty UK comprises of a foundation primer and an eye shadow primer. Both of which I was really excited to try out.

I think you can see from the swatches the different consistencies of the two products. I only blended the foundation primer very lightly, which has a gel like quality to it. So that's why it still looks quite wet on the skin. The eye shadow primer has been blended fully.
Beauty UK Prime FX Foundation Primer £3.99
As you can see above, the primer is not that dissimilar in texture from Benefit's The Porefessional or Maybelline's Baby Skin. The big difference though; the price.
If, like me, you are making your first foray into the world of primers such as this one. Then I would definitely recommend trying this out to see if it's the right product for you first. Whilst I don't ordinarily wear foundation of a day-to-day basis. I do think this would help increase the longevity of your foundation.
But for me I was using this primer on it's own to achieve that dewy, fresh faced look that I love during the warmer months. And that's exactly what this product gives you. It acts as a bit of blur for noticeable pores as well. Which I was really impressed by.
Considering it's a fraction of the price of some of the other primers on the market, in my opinion it does exactly what the others are promising. And much like the packaging of the Beauty UK CC Cream, which I loved, I adore the packaging of this product. I think it looks so sleek and stylish and doesn't scream "I'm from one of the more budget make up lines."
Beauty UK Prime FX Eye Shadow Primer £3.49
As I mentioned above, I've been coveting the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion for many years. But I was always a little bit unsure. I don't know about you but I'm always a little hesitant to pick up a product that I'm not sure if I really need. But now that I've tried this little wonder I'm really tempted to try it out in comparison with the aforementioned Urban Decay product. As I think it could be a bit of a dupe.
I didn't know what to expect from this product but I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely base shade on the end of the wand. The big thing for me about this product, even above the longevity. Which I also must rave about since it literally lasted all day, was the fact that my eye shadow did not crease. I repeat, did not crease. I have tried this as a base under eye shadows from different brands with different pigmentations and finishes. And the results were exactly the same every time. I'm now thinking to myself; how did I go this long without a product like this in my make up bag?
