La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Cream* Was £19.50 Now £16.55
I was recently given the opportunity to review this CC (Complete Correction) cream by Escentual and as soon as they told me it would be a product from La Roche-Posay's range I was rather giddy with excitement. So far I have tried and reviewed their Effaclar Duo [+] and their Cicaplast lip balm (review here), as well a few other products which will be appearing on the blog very soon. These products have quickly become holy grail products for me and ones which I would highly recommend to anyone. So I had a feeling that this might be the CC Cream that I've been looking and longing for. However, as soon as I heard that La-Roche Posay's offering was a universal shade, albeit one which has been adapted to suit fair to medium skin, I was instantly filled with dread and a little deflated, as I had a sneaky suspicion that it would be too dark for me.
(From left to right: product as dispensed from tube - product swatched and blended)
As you can see from the swatches I was right to be a little worried about the universal shade of this product. However, don't let this put you off unless you are as ghostly pale as I am. I'm in the kind of boat where sometimes the lightest possible shade in a brand's foundation, normally entitled 'Ivory' or something along those lines, is far too dark for me. Pale girl problems! Hehe.
What upset me the most about this product was that that was the one and only problem I had with it. Apart from it being a little too dark for my Casper the friendly ghost-esque skin, everything else about this product makes it the dream CC Cream.
It leaves skin feeling dewy and hydrated which was a lovely surprise and the fact that the formula is enriched with La Roche-Posay's Thermal Spring Water makes it so comfortable and almost cooling on the skin. The coverage is also incredibly impressive. Any hints of redness or rosacea basically disappear under this base product and so do blemishes. Another added bonus; the inclusion of sun protection. This product boasts an SPF 30 which really makes this product stand out from many of the other CC Creams on the market. And it also means that regardless of when you wear this cream throughout the year, you are guaranteed protection from harmful UV rays.
Let's get on to the scent of this product, which I absolutely adore. It immediately put me in a summery mood as soon as I dispensed it from the tube. Has it had that effect on anyone else? And if you've been reading my blog for a little while then you will know how much I love a product that has a pump applicator. It just makes everything much easier and more hygienic in my opinion. It also stops too much product being dispensed which is a real bugbear of mine.
If this was slightly lighter I think I would be throwing out all of my other foundations and base products in favour of this but unfortunately the shade means I won't be able to do that which does upset me, as everything else about the product makes it incredible. All I can say to end this review is please, please, please release other shades of this CC Cream La Roche-Posay!
What do you think of CC Creams? Have you ever tried this one? If so, what did you think of it? Are there any CC Creams that you've found that might match my skin tone?

Wow! Thank you so much! :) I'll head over to check it out now.
DeleteI didn't realise La Roche-Posay did CC cream. It looks like a great product! I think I would have the same problem as you with it being too dark :( x

It really is an incredible product, just sadly it's too dark for me! :(
DeleteI work hate to use a CC cream that is only one shade, but other than that it sounds great ^_^

The shade is really the only issue I have with this brilliant CC Cream.
DeleteI would really love to try this one out, but I'm afraid the color won't match my skin tone (I'm not really pale, but I still have a pretty light complexion). I hope I can find a tester somewhere in our pharmacies... :)
ReplyDeleteI would say give it a try and if you can test it out I definitely would! :)
DeleteAhh I tried and reviewed this too, I found that it only just suited me as I'm a teeny bit darker than you I think. It was a close call though!
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely isn't it? I'm also loving the scent - it is certainly a summery one!

The scent really is amazing! :) Glad to hear you thought it was a summery scent too lovely.
DeleteI thought it was too dark for my pale skin until I used a buffing brush and it made a lot of difference x
