La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lip Balm

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Levres Lip Balm Barrier Repairing Review

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lip Balm* £6

I think everyone experiences some kind of damage to their lips in the winter, especially if you live somewhere where the weather is rather unpredictable, like I do. So I've been looking for an intensive balm to use on my lips to make sure that my lips are in tip top condition as the warmer months approach. Don't you just hate it when you have a gorgeous lip stick or ten that you want to wear but it shows up every little crack on the lips?

This product has been recommended to me on umpteen occasions this winter as I've complained about my chapped and cracked lips, so I'm glad I finally got the chance to give it a try.

This lip balm has a thick gel like consistency which absorbs quickly. The great thing about this balm is that it doesn't have a shiny or sticky residue which I often associate with lip products such as these. The Cicaplast blam is also unscented which is a real bonus for me as I'm not a huge fan of scented balms that I'm applying solely to improve the appearance of my lips. This means it's ideal for men and for women.

Not only is this product great for the colder winter months where my lips inevitably suffer from the bitter cold weather we get here but it's also the perfect product for when you have a cold. You know when the skin around your nose starts to get inflamed, aggravated and flaky as a result of what feels like hours and hours of endless sneezing? Well this balm can also be applied to those areas of sore skin around the nose. The fact that this has multiple uses just makes me fall in love with it even more. What other traditional lip balms do you know of that can be used for that purpose

You may have already read my review of the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] and that's now a product I can't imagine not owning so I'm happy to say, La Roche-Posay, you've done it again with this lip balm!

For the price you really can't complain and I love that you can pick up La Roche-Posay from a couple of retailers in the UK now. Mine was provided from garden.co.uk which have such an incredible array of products to choose from and I would know. I've spent what feels like days pottering around their site finding fabulous products.

Have you tried this before? If so, what do you think of it? What lip balms or scrubs do you use to keep your lips in great condition? I think I'll need to try out the Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm next, as again it's one I've heard such incredible things about.

  2. I normally just use Carmex, but after trying quite a few of La Roche-Posay's products, I think this will be added to my wishlist. Their Cicaplast hand cream is great too!

  5. I was going to say that this sounded like the Nivea SOS lip balm (which is brilliant too) but then I read it was multi-purpose which makes this sound even better! Might have to pick it up some time :) xo

    1. Yeah the multi-purpose feature definitely makes it stand out from the rest of the lip balms on the market. I'd definitely recommend it Megan! :)

  7. I use EOS lipbalms and the Lush Bubble Gum lip scrub to keep my lips in good condition.
This lipbalm sounds great though! I really like the fact that you can use it on the area around your nose when it starts to get flaky!

Tbh i didn't think it was worth the hype at all! But now that you've mentioned this I'm definitely going to consider this it sounds like something that will do the trick!

See I've not tried the lip scrub either. I think it might be a little harsh on my lips whereas this is so lovely and soft!
