I've shared a few times in the past that I much prefer wearing only concealer instead of foundation. But I'm always intrigued by tinted moisturisers, especially for times when just concealer on its own doesn't quite cut it. The only issue is, a lot of the time brands tend to make their tinted moisturisers quite restrictive when it comes to the shade range. So normally the lightest shade is still way too dark for me. But on a recent trip to Space NK, where I had some n.dulge points to spend, I made a beeline for the Rare Beauty stand. And that's where I discovered the Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturiser. As well as how many shades it comes in.

As I say, tinted moisturisers usually come in a pretty generic nude shade, when it comes to their lightest offering. So when I spotted quite a few shades that were potentially light enough for someone as fair skinned as me, I was really excited. And it turned out that the lightest shade, 10N, was the perfect match for me.
I really like that it covers redness and blemishes but still allows my natural skin to show through. Basically, it evens out my skin while giving the appearance of a perfect base. Particularly when I pair it with the equally brilliant Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer. Expect a 'the best of Rare Beauty' blog post sometime soon, I've been that impressed with everything that I've tried so far.
It truly doesn't feel like you're wearing anything at all, it's that lightweight on the skin. And that's one of the reasons why I tend to avoid wearing foundation. I really do hate the feeling of my skin being completely covered in product. But this feels lovely to wear all day long.
Another big bonus; it doesn't cling to any dry patches or texture. And overall, it feels really comfortable on my dry skin.
It has an almost satin-like finish on the skin, which I really appreciate. And you can build the coverage slightly, if you need to.
Priced at £26, I think this is a pretty decent price, especially when you consider the great shade range. And if you're a part of the Space NK n.dulge loyalty programme, you can always put some of your points towards it, like I did. If you saw my 'What I Spent In September' post on Instagram, you will know that I ended up paying just £6 for my bottle.
So if you love lighter coverage or have been unable to find a tinted moisturiser to match your skin tone, especially if you're on either end of the fair/dark spectrum, I would certainly give this a try.
