If you've read some of my previous blog posts on foundation, such as this one here, you will know that I wasn't always a fan of wearing foundation. And even now, I definitely prefer a lighter coverage foundation or a combination of tinted moisturiser and concealer. So it was safe to say that the new Urban Decay Stay Naked Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator certainly piqued my interest.
Designed with dry skin in mind, which is exactly what I have, this tinted base isn't your typical foundation or tinted moisturiser. Which is why I simply had to dedicate a full blog post to this recent discovery.

So let's see what I thought of the Urban Decay Stay Naked Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator;
First of all, I was really happy to see that Urban Decay have a shade light enough for someone as fair as me. There are twelve shades to choose from, which doesn't seem like a lot when you consider what Fenty Beauty, Bobbi Brown and Charlotte Tilbury are doing these days. But I think, depending on your skin tone, one of these UD shades should work for you.
It's not the lightest or palest foundation that I have ever tried. But considering that it's more of a tint than a traditional foundation, this shade definitely works for me.
If you're looking for a dewy and hydrating foundation, this is it!
My skin looks so glowy and healthy when I wear this. And I love how it evens out my complexion without masking my skin completely.
You can go really sheer with this or build it up to give you more coverage where you need it. I even applied a little bit extra under my under eyes, to see how it would react to a precise and small area like that. And I liked the way that it looked. So much so that I went sans concealer, opting to wear the Hydromaniac Tint on its own instead.
Urban Decay also recommend applying this with your fingers, if you so wish. So you don't need any fancy brushes to apply it. I would say, it's the kind of consistency that would work well with a Beauty Blender sponge as well.
If I had to compare it to another foundation, it would be the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination SPF 50+. It has a similar consistency, blendability and is definitely more illuminating than the traditional CC cream of theirs. The only difference really is that IT Cosmetics' has SPF built into it. But if you apply SPF liberally each day, like you should be, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
If you have oilier skin or prefer a matte finish, this might not be the foundation for you. But if your skin is on the dry side or you're looking for more hydration, I would 100% recommend picking this up.
