In this current climate of staying home, it’s hard not to get upset about any trips you had lined up. So many of us have had to put a pin in our plans or cancel them all together. It’s understandable that you’re feeling sad and scared, we all are. However, we’re all in this together and when the right time comes the world will still be waiting for us to explore. I've also got some tips for how to plan your next trip, when this is all over;
Bigger and Better
Even though it may not feel like it now, it’s not the end of the world. You will have plenty of time to prepare and make your next trip bigger and better than before. You can take this extra time to save up and make it the holiday of a lifetime. After all, you’ve got plenty to make up for and you can use it as an excuse to well and truly treat yourself. Whether you want to travel further afield or stay in more luxurious accommodation - do whatever you can to make it an extra special holiday.
More time to research
Postponed plans also mean you have a great opportunity to do extra research for your trip. You can really get to know the place you’re going to, before you even get there. Or you could look into different ways of seeing the country, that you may not have considered. For instance, have you thought about doing an organised tour? They’re a great way for you to see the best places a country has to offer. Jules Verne offers authentic travel experiences all over the world. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the sights.

The more the merrier
Perhaps with the trip you had lined up, your friends or family couldn’t come because of budget or time. However, now you’ve got so much time to save up and plan your next trip. So why not get more people involved? So many people will be craving a holiday. Group travel has plenty of benefits, one of the main ones being splitting accommodation costs. Not to mention you’ve got so many people to spend time with and make memories. If you’re struggling to think of good group destinations, look no further than right here.
You time
It’s safe to say we’ll all be spending a lot more time at home. You can spend this time as you see fit, whether that’s binge-watching shows on Netflix or taking up a new hobby. However you want to deal with the current situation is totally up to you. You need to make sure to look after yourself. If you find things are getting a bit much, it could be helpful to write a list of things you want to achieve - both at home and when things go back to normal. I've even got a blog post dedicated to some ways to stay sane and somewhat productive during this time.
It can be hard to remember at times like this but the world is a beautiful place. Don’t forget that you’re hitting pause rather than stop. You can fast forward however far from now and you will be on a much needed holiday - happy to be in such a wonderful spot. Plus hopefully I've given you some ideas for how to plan your next trip.
Where’s your dream destination?
