The Top 10 Beauty Gift Sets This Year (For Every Budget): Christmas Gift Guide

best beauty gifts 2018

I had planned on doing just one big bumper Christmas gift guide this year but when the gift sets are this good, it's only right that they have a blog post of their own. So this week will be Christmas gift guide week on Ellis Tuesday with another two gift guide blog posts going live on Wednesday and Friday.

So here are my top 10 picks of the best beauty gift sets available this year;

charlotte tilbury after hours look gift box

Charlotte Tilbury After Hours Gift Box (£100)

When it comes to beauty gift sets, it's no surprise that one from Charlotte Tilbury has made my list this year. I've featured Charlotte Tilbury gift sets in my gift guides for the past few years and this gift box is easily the best one that I've ever seen!

Featuring three full sized products and two great minis, the After Hours Gift Box is limited edition and priced at just £100. When you consider the fact that the Filmstar Bronze & Glow is £49 on it's own, you'll quickly see why this is such a great set. If you've been dying to try Charlotte's iconic Pillow Talk lip liner or lipstick, these are also included in the set, as is the brand new and now sold out limited edition Starlight Luxury Palette Of Pops eyeshadow. If you buy one beauty gift set this year, make it this one. I promise you won't regret it!

sunday riley holiday heroes kit 2018

Sunday Riley Holiday Heroes Kit* (£100)

If, like me, you've never tried Sunday Riley before but have been really intrigued by the brand, then this is the set to pick up this Christmas. Containing a full size of the newly reformulated Good Genes Treatment and luxury minis of the Ceramic Slip Cleanser, Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream, Luna Sleeping Night Oil and C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum, this kit has a value of £135 for just £100.

This instantly reminded me of one of Sephora's epic gift sets and I'm so happy that we now have access to these kinds of sets and the great savings that they usually come with, here in the UK. This would make such a wonderful gift for a whole range of different people and of different ages and if like me, you've wanted to delve into Sunday Riley skincare, this would be a great way to do so.

Drunk Elephant Inspector Drunk Kit (£82)

If Sunday Riley isn't your thing, I've got a feeling that you will have heard of Drunk Elephant and their recent UK launch. I actually bought this set from Sephora and even though it was pretty pricey it was totally worth the money. This kit comes with a full size of the epic T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum (this stuff has been working wonders on my odd skin texture!) along with four decent sized minis of some of the most loved and hyped about products from the range. With the whole set, complete with novelty magnifying glass, costing the exact same as the Night Serum would normally, this is such great value and a brilliant way to dip your toe into the Drunk Elephant water.

I have a feeling that this set will sell out soon so if it's something that you've got your eye on, be sure to get on Space NK's website or to your nearest Space NK store sooner rather than later.

too faced beauty daydreamer set

Too Faced Beauty Daydreamer Gift Set (£35)

Too Faced always do such fantastic holiday gift sets and the Beauty Daydreamer Gift Set is no different. I actually saw the holiday releases when I was in Sephora in October and had been very tempted by the Under The Christmas Tree set (it's currently down to £32 on ASOS if you've been thinking about getting it) but lack of space in my suitcase meant that I had to leave it behind. I hadn't seen this specific set in the US and have since found out that it was exclusive to Ulta in the States, which explains why I hadn't seen it over there. But thankfully we can get the entire holiday range either at either Debenhams or Selfridges here in the UK.

The palette is packed full of fun sparkly shimmers (Baby It's Cold is a shade that I've never seen in a palette before, which I love) along with some lovely mattes and all the shades that you could possibly ever need on a day to day basis. The highlight powders in particular are absolutely gorgeous. And at £35 it's not too pricey either. I also love the adorable little makeup bag that this set comes with and it's always very handy to have a mini version of one of my all-time favourite mascaras; the Better Than Sex and a mini lip gloss to add to my handbag.

michael kors wonderlust gift set

Michael Kors Wonderlust Eau De Parfum 50ml Gift Set* (£72 or currently £61.20 on Escentual)

I'll be doing a dedicated fragrance Christmas gift guide later this week but until then, I simply had to share one of my favourite fragrance gift sets this year featuring the scent that I've worn the most in 2018.

The fragrance in question; Michael Kors Wonderlust, which is such a gorgeous scent. It instantly reminds me of Summer, which can only be a good thing and is such a lovely fragrance to wear during the day. Michael Kors dubs it a floriental (floral/oriental scent) fragrance and I would definitely agree with that. It also has the loveliest hint of fruitiness as well, which is why I'm such a big fan. This particular set also comes with an incredibly handy rollerball and rose gold card wallet. Seriously, why don't we have a rollerball section in our stores here like they do in Sephora, for example?

bobbi brown travel brush set

Bobbi Brown Travel Brush Set (£69)

One of my best blogging moments of 2018 was getting to attend a Bobbi Brown masterclass and I've been using my Bobbi Brown makeup brushes pretty much exclusively ever since then. We probably all have a plethora of different brushes in our collections but this limited edition travel brush set would make such an incredible gift to open on Christmas morning. You could solely use them for travel or upgrade your core collection. And the black velvet case just adds to the gifting experience. Unlike other travel makeup brush gift sets, all the brushes in this are full sized and it really does contain all the big hitters such as the incredible Full Coverage Face Brush and Full Coverage Touch-Up Brush, my personal favourites.

Even though this set seems to currently be sold out on Bobbi Brown's website, I would definitely pay your local Bobbi Brown counter or store a visit as I've seen a few of the sets at most of the Glasgow counters. Or you can get them from John Lewis, who tend to price match any deals, for some added savings.

real techniques after party set

Real Techniques After Party Set (£19.99)

If you're looking for a more budget friendly brush set, the Real Techniques After Party Set is the one for you. I love the look of this year's Christmas gifting packaging and the fact that they have included so many brand new brushes in these limited edition sets. This particular set comes with two classic brushes, a brilliant neon sponge and four completely new brushes.

This would be a great gift idea for teenage girls, anyone just starting out when it comes to makeup or that person in your life, who loves makeup, who's also pretty hard to buy for. Alternatively, if you or the person you're buying for already love Real Techniques, this would make a great addition to their beauty stash.

becca macaron set

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter Macaron Kit (£45)

If you've wanted to try BECCA's stunning Shimmering Skin Perfectors but weren't sure which shade to go for or ready to commit to a full size, this kit is an absolute no brainer! I actually bought this for my Mum's Christmas when I was in Sephora in the US (hopefully she doesn't read this before the big day itself) but it's available here in the UK exclusively at John Lewis & Partners.

You get four gorgeous shades all wrapped up in an easy to wrap box. Surely I'm not the only one who loves a good gift set, mainly because they're just so much easier to wrap? The colour intensity is insane and I know my Mum, a bit of a highlighter fanatic, will be over the moon with this set come Christmas day!

soap and glory brow fabulous

Soap & Glory Brow Fabulous Gift Set* (£16)

Soap & Glory always come out with an incredible gifting range at this time of year and I'm really glad to see even more makeup gift offerings for 2018. I don't know about you but as such a Soap & Glory soaperfan, I have more bath and body stuff from them than I could ever possibly use, so the sets that contain makeup offerings are always of more interest to me at this time of year.

This Brow Fabulous Gift Set comes with some of their bestselling brow products such as the Archery Volu-Boost Brow Fibre Gel, the Archery 2-in-1 Brow Sculpting Crayon & Setting Gel and Arch De Triumph Eyebrow Shaper & Highlighter. You also get an adorable little pair of pink tweezers. This would make such a great gift for teens just starting out doing their brows or anyone who wants to up their brow game going forward. I also love the little tin that this set comes in.

nyx land of lollies review

NYX Land Of Lollies Lip Trios (£10)

Last but not least we have this adorable festive lollipop from NYX. It comes in three different colour and finish options but this one with the metallic glosses has got to be my favourite. I also just had to pick up the butter glosses set as they're easily one of my favourite lip products and I couldn't resist the dinky little size of these.

It really would make the perfect stocking filler or Secret Santa gift this year and is a great way to try out some more slightly out there shades without buying a few of the full sizes. NYX's entire Christmas gifting range this year is just so darn cute, so really any of the range would work well as gift ideas. If you have a bit more cash to splash I would 100% recommend the Whipped Wonderland Vault. I'm currently debating if I really do need it in my life (what do you think?)

So there are my top 10 beauty gift sets for a whole range of tastes and budgets.

Do you take advantage of the different gift sets available at this time of year and the overall savings to be had? Which gift set or sets, in today's blog post looks like it could be your favourite? And what do you have on your Christmas list this year?

Here are a few more of my favourite gift sets this year;
