Spring Transitional Outfit

To coincide with the final week of London Fashion Week. The wonderful team at People Make Glasgow asked me to put together a Spring outfit to showcase just some of Glasgow's style credentials. As I've mentioned before, you're honestly spoiled for choice when it comes to shopping in Glasgow. The mix of High Street favourites, designer stores and exclusive retailers is exactly why I love spending most of my free time traipsing along Glasgow's Style Mile. And making several pit-stops along the way.

When most of us think of Spring fashion I've got a feeling that what springs to mind first, pardon the pun, is florals and pastels. However we all know how temperamental the weather can be at this time of year, particularly in Scotland. So I opted for pieces that really could work well in any season. And since Spring is much more of a transitional period for me, I picked up some pieces that work when it comes to my current monochrome aesthetic. That also allow me to leave my big Winter coat and boots at home.

I headed to Buchanan Galleries, located towards the North of The Glasgow Style Mile, one evening to take advantage of the fact that over 200 stores in the City Centre now stay open to at least 7pm on weeknights. With most stores opened until 8pm on Thursday's. And as the evenings get that bit lighter each night, Spring really feels like it's sprung.

Oasis Suedette Biker Jacket

As soon as I spotted this Suedette Biker Jacket* in Oasis I knew that I'd found something pretty special. It's the ideal kind of jacket for this time of year. You know when it's cold. But can get quite warm when the sun hits you?

I paired it with this dalmatian print/spotty satin Blouse* from H&M. And a fantastic pair of black skinny jeans from Mango. These are the Skinny Elekra jeans* for reference. And Mango is quickly becoming one of my favourite places to buy jeans from.

Black Faux Leather Bucket Bag

I also finally managed to pick up a brilliant black bucket bag*. I've wanted to add one of these to my wardrobe for quite some time now. So you can imagine my excitement when I spotted this one hiding at the back of H&M in the sale section for just £5! Yup that's right; £5!!

River Island Lace-Up Sandals

When looking for what to pop on my feet for this blog post and for Spring/the rest of the year to be quite honest, I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for. I just recently bought a pair of over the knee boots (which I'm just thinking will go perfectly with my new suedette jacket) which I absolutely adore. And I also bought quite a number of flat shoes in the January sales. But when I saw this pair of black leather Ghillie Lace-Up Sandals* in River Island I knew that I had found what I was looking for. I think that these will take me right through the year. And they'll work well for my holiday to Florida later in the year too.
