As with most months, I've spent quite a bit of time in front of the TV. So I'm here to share what to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime and TV this month. And there should be something for everyone. From true crime to reality, drama and a bit of a cheesy movie.
Here's What To Watch On Netflix, Amazon Prime And TV This Month;
Unsolved Mysteries
Let me just start by saying, if you have not yet seen Unsolved Mysteries, I cannot recommend it highly enough. This is actually a reboot of a nineties US TV show. But it's now very Netflix, in a good way. If you love a good true crime doc or a mysterious case, you will find yourself binge watching these so quickly, like I did. Each episode is dedicated to a different case. And even though the clue is in the title, you're still shocked when it ends with it being unsolved. Some of the cases are wild (does anyone have any idea what happened to Rey Rivera?) Whereas others seem more cut and dry. I mean, Rob (Patrice's husband) is definitely guilty of something. All I will say is, don't watch it before you go to bed. Because even though it happened halfway across the world, the Rey Rivera case in particular gave me a seriously sleepless night.
The first six episodes of season one of Unsolved Mysteries are available now on Netflix. And I've heard that the following six will be premiering later in 2020. Fingers crossed that they'll arrive around Halloween to give us even more chills.

Canada's Drag Race
As someone who has watched every episode of Ru Paul's Drag Race, All Stars, Drag Race UK and Celebrity Drag Race. It's no surprise that it no longer feels fresh or as exciting as it once was. For example, All Stars, which is currently airing weekly on Netlfix, has had a few weeks of pretty rubbish main challenges. And you could have put money on Shea, Miz Cracker and Jujubee being the final three. But that's a rant for another time. So when I saw that Canada's Drag Race was premiering I was definitely intrigued. And I was even more so when I found out that Ru would not be hosting it.
Instead the judging panel is made up of Brooke Lynn Hytes, Stacey McKenzie (you may know her from ANTM) and Jeffrey Boyer-Chapman. With there being a guest host each week. Now, I don't get most of the Canadian references and I have no idea who most of the guest hosts are. But that first episode, where they have to make their runway look from a box of bits and bobs, was SO good! It instantly reminded me of the early seasons of Drag Race where it was a lot more fun. We'll see if the rest of the season continues in a similar way. But I would definitely recommend giving it a watch, especially if you're a Drag Race fan. The Kissing Booth 2
You might remember me reviewing the first Kissing Booth movie back in 2018. Even though I wasn't wowed by it. I just had to see what the sequel was like as soon as it premiered on Netflix this month. And I've got to admit, it was watchable. To be honest, given what's going on in the world the right now. Sometimes you just need to watch something a lit bit light or silly to unwind. But back to the movie itself.
If you did see that original review, you will know that I did not see the appeal in Noah AT ALL! So I feel like whoever else they had vying for Elle would be a big step up. But Marco is a catch! It isn't even a contest for me. Both of The Kissing Booth movies immediately take me back to my teenage years. Back when I used to be jumping about on the dance machine anytime we went bowling. Or when I would watch movies like Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging. I definitely preferred the sequel to the first one. So I am one of those people who will be looking forward to the third one coming out next year. Even if it's just to see more of Marco and hopefully even less of Noah.

The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story
I originally watched this back when it first aired on TV. But I wasn't doing my monthly What I've Been Watching blog posts back then. So I thought that I would share my thoughts on it today. We decided to rewatch it as a family this month. And I'm so glad that we did. If you haven't already seen it, I cannot urge you to watch The People v. OJ Simpson enough. And not that it wasn't already relevant. But it feels even more so in the current climate.
If you don't know much about the real life case that this drama is based on. This has got to be one of the biggest cases in American history. It features an all star cast, with the likes of John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jr, Sarah Paulson and David Schwimmer. And it's also brought to us by the same team that created American Horror Story, 9-1-1, Scream Queens and more. It's ten episodes long and it's hard to believe that some of it really happened. Particularly when the evidence was so strong that Simpson had committed the murders. I won't go on to run it, if you don't know what the eventual verdict is. But you should definitely check this out. You'll find it streaming on Netflix right now.

The Fashion Fund
I featured The Fashion Fund in one of my What I've Been Watching back in 2018. And it has taken until now for season two to be put online. If you didn't see it feature on Ellis Tuesday last time, The Fashion Fund follows the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund competition. Ten American designers are tasked with competing for mentorship and investment. And the judges include Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg and Jenna Lyons. Plus other big names from fashion and retail. It's not like a typical reality fashion TV show, as this is a real process that they are undertaking. It's just that it has been filmed at the same time. So it's not like Project Runway, for example.
I was a little bit shook that season two was actually released in 2014. Which means that obviously quite a lot has changed since then. But I did recognise some of the participants, such as Edie Parker. It looks as though they made three seasons of The Fashion Fund. So hopefully that will be uploaded soon. The Hills
I was looking for something easy to watch right before bed, when I saw that all six seasons of The Hills were on Amazon Prime Video. So that pretty much made up my mind right there and then. And just for nostalgia alone, it is well worth a watch. I've just finished season one and there is a whole lot of Ed Hardy, cropped trousers, hair bands and flip phones to take in. And it took me back in time to when I was in high school. When I was wearing cropped trousers and all the hair accessories, with my Motorala RAZR flip phone. In pink, of course. It's crazy to see Heidi sans Spencer and before all her plastic surgery too. Plus seeing Lauren and Whitney at Teen Vogue reminded me of why I wanted to start writing in the first place.
I did watch The Hills: New Beginnings. And I'll probably review that when season two premieres. But The Hills just isn't The Hills without LC. And really, I don't think we'll ever see her affiliate herself with it again. Which is a shame but totally understandable.
