A Phone Case Giveaway With Electric Melon

iPhone Phone Case Giveaway

A couple of weeks ago I finally took the plunge and bought myself an iPhone and as a result, all I've been doing in my free time is looking for fun and pretty cases to put on it. After many, many years with an old Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini, where there were basically no options when it came to phone cases, it's all been rather exciting since making the switch to an iPhone. There really are unlimited options when it comes to adding a bit of your personality to your phone and that's how I stumbled across Electric Melon.

After finding them on Twitter, I had a good browse of their site and I think you'll have to agree with me that their cases are fun, kitschy and cute and also really affordable. So when the team at Electric Melon asked if I'd like to review and give away one of their cases, I really did jump at the opportunity and this is the one that I picked;

Soap & Glory Shower Jelly

Despite my affinity for Lush bath bombs, I'm definitely more of a shower person so when I heard that Soap & Glory were adding two new products to their incredible bath and body range, I was definitely intrigued and excited to see what they would be. Imagine how happy I was when I found out that they were introducing two new shower gels or should I say, jellies. Something about them just screams Summer and as the weather has been warmer and sunnier over the past couple of weeks, I've found myself reaching for these every time that I've hopped into the shower recently. So as I've been putting these to the test since their launch, I'm here to share my thoughts on both of them and the shower jelly concept and here they are;

I have a feeling that a lot of you will have clicked onto this particular blog post solely to get your Sugar Crush fix and you'll definitely be happy to find another product added to the lime scented line. I'm a fan of the Sugar Crush scent, as you might have been able to tell if you've been reading Ellis Tuesday for a while and this Sugar Crush shower jelly smells exactly like you'd expect it to; sweet, zingy and fresh.

The consistency is unlike any other shower gel or shower cream that I've used before and as the name suggests, this really does come out of the tube like jelly. I went through a bit of a phase in my early teens where all I would eat as a snack was strawberry jelly so the Original Pink shower jelly, in particular, certainly takes me back to those days. But what impressed me the most was the fact that both lather up really nicely. Some other shower gels just don't do that and that's why those are ones that I don't repurchase. These on the other hand, I can see as a permanent fixture in my bathroom cabinet for many months and years to come.

Speaking of Original Pink; I think that this might just be my favourite out of the two, solely because I'm all about the Righteous Butter and the Clean On Me range of products. Both shower jellies leave your skin smelling absolutely incredible and of your Soap & Glory scent of choice for a good number of hours and of course, if you follow up your shower with it's sister products, the scent lasts all the longer.

These retail at £5.50 each, which does seem a little bit pricey but that's mainly because I'm the kind of person who begrudges paying any more than £1 for a shower gel normally. I'll definitely be making an exception when it comes to these and as Boots regularly run 3 for 2 deals, it will be nice to receive one or both of these as a little added bonus after buying two other products.

What do you think of these? Will you be picking one or both of them up when you're next in Boots? Are you more of a bath person or a shower person? And which Soap & Glory scent is your favourite?

The May 2016 Look Incredible Deluxe Box

Look Incredible Deluxe Beauty Box May 2016 Review

On Ellis Tuesday I've tried two beauty boxes in the past, from Look Fantastic and Birchbox respectively and I have to say, I've been impressed with every single one of them that I've received but when this month's Look Incredible deluxe beauty box arrived at my door, to say that I was blown away would be a definite understatement. So let's see exactly what is included in the May Look Incredible deluxe beauty box*;

NARS Makeup Primer Review Beauty Blog

First of all, any beauty box that includes one NARS product is a big hit for me so to find two full size NARS products is almost unbelievable. First up we have the NARS Makeup Primer. This retails for £25 on it's own and is a product that I've wanted to try for quite some time now. I'll be sure to share my thoughts on this and the next NARS product in a dedicated blog post in a couple of weeks time.

NARS Eyeshadow Palette Indian Summer Review Beauty Blog

Then we have the NARS Eyeshadow Palette in Indian Summer. I've tried NARS eyeshadows in the past and have always been incredibly impressed with the quality and pigmentation and this one is no different. I also adore the two colours both individually and together. This is £25 when bought on it's own. Did I mention the fact that this whole box is just £35?! More on that later.

Best Beauty Box Subscription Review 2016

Next up we have a brand that I've always wanted to try, as well as one of their most celebrated and best-selling products. When I saw the Tarte Light, Camera, Lashes mascara staring up at me from the box when it first arrived, I couldn't help but smile and get rather excited. I had actually planned on picking this up on my trip to Orlando later in the year so I could try it for the first time but thanks to the this month's Look Incredible box I can try it right now and thank goodness I did. I think I might have found a new must-have mascara. I've definitely got my eye on the Lights, Camera, Flashes statement mascara from them when I hit up Sephora later in the year.

There's usually one hero product in a beauty box, or at least that's how I normally feel when it comes to them, so to have two NARS products and an exclusive brand such as Tarte with a product that retails for £21.50, honestly blows my mind and that sense of excitement and awe continued when I spotted the absolutely stunning Guerlain Face Powder Brush. This retails for £25.50 ordinarily and despite it being my first foray into Guerlain, it definitely won't be my last. The bristles are so soft and simply beautiful.

And last but certainly not least we have the Chantecaille Lip Sheer in the shade Qatar. Chantecaille are a brand that I haven't heard a great deal about but there should really be more beauty buzz surrounding the brand. Their lip sheers retail for £24.50 and they do exactly what they say on the tin. It leaves you with such a lovely sheer look but it's equally buildable too. So I definitely wouldn't be put off by the intensity of the shade that you see in the bullet itself. I'll certainly be looking into more products from Chantecaille as a result of trying this lip sheer in the May box.

£35 is a little pricier than the other two beauty boxes that I've tried in the past (£15 a month for Look Fantastic and £12.95 (including P&P) for Birchbox) but the promise of receiving only
full size products instead of sample and travel sized ones, definitely justifies the price. And when you take into consideration the fact that this month's products tally up to over £120, £35 really does seem like nothing at all. Talk about value for money!

Another big bonus for me when it comes to the Look Incredible box; delivery. I seem to live in a house where mail doesn't always arrive on time or at all so the fact that Look Incredible send each and every one of their boxes via Royal Mail's Second Class Signed For service is brilliant. If you've ever had mail go missing you'll know exactly how reassuring using a signed for service is. And the fact that your £35 includes that premium delivery really does sweeten the deal.

For me, this is pretty much an unbeatable beauty box in terms of value for money, the size of the products included and the brands that have appeared. I can't wait to see what Look Incredible come up with for next month's box.

So what do you think of this edition of the Look Incredible deluxe beauty box? Have you tried any of the products included in the May box? If so, what are your thoughts on them? And which beauty box is your favourite out of the several that are currently on the market?

Superdrug's Health & Beautycard's 5th Birthday Beauty Haul

Superdrug Birthday Beauty Haul Post

To celebrate the fact that Superdrug's Health & Beautycard has just turned 5, the team at Superdrug asked me if I'd like to do a spot of shopping. They very kindly loaded my Health & Beautycard with £40 worth of points to spend and here's what I managed to pick up, as well as all of the best deals and discounts that are available to Health & Beautycard holders to celebrate the big birthday;

Superdrug Haul

The first thing I spotted in store was the fact that there were lots of exclusive member only offers when it came to the Health & Beautycard. If you're out shopping anytime soon and pop into Superdrug, be sure to look for the little round tags and banners on the stands throughout the store. Or if you're shopping online, here are all the exclusive offers in one place. If you haven't already picked up a Health & Beautycard, there's no better time to do so than now.

One of the first deals to catch my eye was the members only one concerning Cocoa Brown. At the moment you'll receive 500 points when you buy two Cocoa Brown products and since Summer is fast approaching I decided to pick up both versions of their Instant Tan Bronzing Gels. I've yet to put them to the test but expect a full blog post dedicated to all things Summer tanning and sun protection in the next couple of weeks/month. Which one would you try first? The matte* or the shimmer*? And remember, 500 points basically equates to £5 worth of points, which means that you would only really be paying £8.98 for both products thanks to this great deal.

The other offer that instantly interested me was the 10% off selected Real Techniques products for Health & Beautycard members. After trying the Deluxe Holiday Set and their Miracle Complexion Sponge at the end of last year, I'd been keen to add to my Real Technqiues collection so I finally picked up the Travel Essentials* set along with their Brush Cleaner*. Again, much like the Cocoa Brown products, I will be sure to dedicate an entire blog post to my thoughts on these once I've properly put them to the test.

If those member only exclusive deals weren't enough reason to pick up or use your Health & Beautycard, there's plenty of other perks to using the card. There's lower prices, free delivery, bonus points offers, treats every Thursday and a surprise on your birthday. And talking of birthdays, all I have left to do is to wish Superdrug a big Happy Birthday! Here's to the next five years and more when it comes to the Health & Beautycard!

Now who do I talk to about those incredible looking birthday doughnuts? Hehe.

Superdrug Health & Beautycard Perks

Do you shop regularly at Superdrug? Do you own a Superdrug Health & Beautycard? Have you tried any of the products that I picked up in my haul? If so, what do you think of them? And what would you be treating yourself to thanks to the member only exclusive deals?

Spring/Summer Beauty Must-Haves At St. Enoch & Style Mile Shopping Festival Details

Spring/Summer Beauty Must-Haves 2016 Reviews

This month something very exciting is happening here in Glasgow, which will be of particular interest to all of you shopaholics and shopping fanatics out there. Glasgow is hosting it's very first Style Mile Shopping Festival. If you've been reading Ellis Tuesday for a while now, you will have most likely heard me mention Glasgow's Style Mile on more than one occasion. But just in case you haven't caught those particular blog posts, the Style Mile in Glasgow is made up of Glasgow's biggest streets when it comes to shopping, such as Argyle Street (you saw my blog post on Topshop's Argyle Street store a week ago), Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street. And on these streets you'll find over 1500 shops which include some of the best stores out there such as John Lewis and House Of Fraser, as well as incredible shopping centres such as Buchanan Galleries, Princes Square, St. Enoch Centre and the positively stunning Argyll Arcade, proving why Glasgow is recognised as one of the best shopping experiences in the UK.

From the 25th to the 30th of May there will be lots of brilliant events. From styling sessions, to make-up masterclasses, new product demonstrations and mini-makeovers, it's a festival that's definitely right up my street.

To celebrate all of the incredible beauty events that will be taking place, such as Instagram and YouTube sensation Jamie Genevieve showing shoppers how to achieve some of her top looks on Sunday the 29th, St. Enoch asked me if I'd like to shop for and share my Spring/Summer beauty favourites and must-haves and I had such a lovely time doing so. So here they are;

Best primers of 2016 reviews

Dealing with the heat and humidity that Spring and Summer bring (how remarkably sunny and warm has it been here in Scotland and the UK as a whole recently?), primers are particularly important for me at this time of year. There are two that I would definitely recommend trying under your foundation of choice. First up is Smasbox's Photo Finish Primer Oil*. This is incredible for those of us who suffer from dry or dehydrated skin and it gives you such a great base to work from. You'll find this at Boots. Another brilliant primer, one that I've been using and loving since the start of the year, is Too Faced's Hangover Face Primer*. This is equally hydrating and replenishing and my skin feels a whole lot brighter and fresh when I'm wearing this. You can pick this up, as well as the entire Too Faced range, from Debenhams.

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome Review

To add a bit of bronze for those warm Summer days, The Body Shop's Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome* is fantastic. It gives the skin such a natural glow and shimmer and it also works really well on paler skintones, such as mine, which is definitely a big bonus. It's also incredibly creamy and blendable and available in three different shades.

L'Oreal New Makeup 2016 Reviews

Back in Boots, I took advantage of one of their great 3 for 2 deals to inject some much needed colour into my Spring/Summer make-up bag. I picked up two of L'Oreal's new Color Riche A L'Huile nail polishes in the shades 226 Nymphea* (a pink with a real punch) and 332 Violet Vendome* (a vibrant purple), along with one of their new Infallible Matte Max lipsticks in the shade 006 Disturbia* (the perfect coral shade).

Nyx at Boots review

I then got a little distracted at the NYX stand. Ever since it first popped up in the St. Enoch store, it's always the busiest make-up stand in the store and every time that I pay it a visit I end up buying or falling head over heels in love with some thing or things and that's exactly what happened with this Prismatic Eye Shadow*. The Mermaid shade is absolutely out of this world, as is the pigmentation and I have a feeling that this would work well for a whole range of skin colours.

Last but not least, I popped directly over to the Bumble and bumble stand to pick up their Surf Infusion Spray*. I'm a big fan of their Surf range and this spray leaves my hair with the most beautiful beachy waves without being drying on the hair at all. It's particularly great for those days when you're not doing too much styling to the hair and I'll certainly be bringing it along with me on my holiday to Orlando later in the year. I don't tend to apply any heat to my hair when I'm on my holidays as it dries that quickly on it's own so this spray will definitely come in handy during those weeks.

To find out more about the Style Mile Shopping Festival and the role that St. Enoch will be playing in it, be sure to check out all the details here.

If you are in or around Glasgow will you be making a trip to the Style Mile Shopping Festival? Who would love to see Jamie Genevieve do a make-up masterclass in person? And what are your Spring/Summer beauty must-haves this year?

5 Places I'd Visit If Money Was No Option

Places I'd Visit If Money Was No Option

I'm nearing my mid-twenties (I still can't believe that I'm going to be 25 at the start of next year) and unlike many people my age I've only ever visited two countries. Don't get me wrong, I definitely have the travel bug but I'm not one of those people who'd love to backpack across the world for a year or so. I wouldn't say that I'm high maintenance but there are some home comforts that I know I wouldn't be able to go without for a great deal of time. These things being; an actual bed (I've got no desire to sleep in a sleeping bag anymore), some kind of electricity (how am I meant to deal with my unruly natural hair or have a quick scroll through social media without it?) and a clean and fully operational bathroom (as someone with IBS, this really is a must). And that's what got me thinking, where would I go if I had all the money in the world. Imagine if your job was to travel the world and write or blog about it. Can you tell that I spend most of my days daydreaming about this exact scenario? Hehe. So here are 5 places I'd visit if money was no option;

American road trip ideas

Despite having visited Orlando, Florida many, many times, I always feel like Orlando, in particular, is a bit of a microcosm when it comes to the US. Travel a few miles away from the theme parks and the tourist traps and it's like you've ended up in a completely different country or taken a trip back in time in some instances.
If money was absolutely no option, an American road-trip would be at the very top of my dream travel list. Ideally I'd spend six months (since this is the maximum amount of time you can stay in the US on a tourist VISA) visiting as many of the 50 states as I possibly could. Although saying that, I would definitely want to spend a bit more time in states such as New York (have you seen my Welcome To New York board on Pinterest? I may be a little obsessed with the notion of visiting there at some point), California, Hawaii, Washington, Texas and Nevada.
All I need now is a couple of willing travellers to join me or if money really was no option, I'd definitely be getting chauffer driven across the USA.

Maldives Travel Blog

I feel like I'm the only blogger who hasn't visited the Maldives this year. Hehe. Does anyone else feel the same? So if anyone fancies sending me over there for a couple of days, I certainly wouldn't say no. But if money truly was no option I'd absolutely love to visit this stunning set of islands. Some of the resorts and individual villas look absolutely unreal and even though I'm not the biggest fan of beach holidays or spending time just lying in the sun, I have a feeling that somewhere like the Maldives could very well change that stance.
It looks so serene and as someone who doesn't necessarily relax on holidays (I blame the fact that there's that much to do in Orlando), it would be so nice just to take it easy, step away from technology (except to post the odd photograph to Instagram, of course) and take in the breathtaking surroundings.
I'd definitely be up for snorkelling, strolling along the white sandy beaches and exploring everything that the Maldives has to offer.

African Safari Ideas with elephants

Ever since I was very little I've always wanted to go on a safari. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that I was obsessed with The Lion King (I watched it so many times, even though Mufasa's death made me cry every time) and the fact that I've loved elephants for as long as I can remember. On my first birthday I was given a little stuffed toy elephant and ever since that day me and him have been inseparable. He does now live on a shelf in my bedroom as he's been looking a little worse for wear for a while now, after years of constantly having him by my side. However, even now, as an adult, he's there if I need a little bit of comfort or a cuddle after a particularly horrible day.
And even though I've been fortunate enough to see wild animals both here in Scotland, at the Edinburgh Zoo and at various parks in Orlando, I don't think anything I've seen before can really compete with observing them in their natural habitat. Being able to interact with an elephant has and will always be, one of those things on my list to do before I die.
I'm not exactly sure where in Africa I'd want to visit first but after reading Tanya Burr's blog posts about her honeymoon in South Africa, something about that area just looks so beautiful and absolutely out of this world.

Aguas de Ibiza Lifestyle & Spa Hotel review blog

This might seem like a bit of a strange pick considering the fact that I could quite easily afford a weekend in Barcelona or somewhere else in Spain if I really wanted to but if I was to visit somewhere that's not too far from home, I'd want to go 5 star all the way if money was no option.
The last time I visited Spain I was around 8 years old and we stayed in Benidorm. Even as a child it wasn't exactly my scene. I'm pretty sure I was old before my time even at that age so I've never been remotely compelled to go on an 18-30 holiday somewhere like Magaluf or Ibiza but we did make a day trip to the isle of Ibiza when we were last there and during the day and away from the nightclubs it was incredibly beautiful and definitely somewhere that I would like to visit again. So if I was to do so, I'd want to spend a few days in Barcelona (how amazing does the W Hotel, right on the beachfront. look?), a few days in Ibiza (the Aguas de Ibiza Lifestyle & Spa Hotel looks like the perfect combination of 5 star and boutique living) and a couple of days in Madrid.

Dubai Travel Blog

Talking of 5 star, who wouldn't want to live like a King or Queen in Dubai? I'm that enamoured with the idea of visiting Dubai at some point in my life that I've dedicated an entire blog post to my dream day in Dubai. So be sure to check that out if you'd like to hear about it in more info. As you might be able to tell when I'm raving about Orlando, what I really love about it, in particular, is the great mix of amazing places to visit, gorgeous weather that's a light-year away from what I experience here in Scotland and more shops and malls than even I could dream of. In a way that's what's drawing me to Dubai too. Experiences like heading to the top of the World's largest building, trekking across the desert and taking in the Dubai fountains, look extraordinary as well. And if money really was no object I'd be booking into the Atlantis, The Palm and staring out from my palatial balcony towards the Palm islands. Even just looking at that aerial view on Google leaves me awestruck.

So there you have it, the 5 places that I would visit if money truly was no option. I can only imagine being in the position where making all or any of these holidays a reality but it's always worth having something or some things that are incredibly special and sometimes once in a lifetime, to strive toward.

Where would you visit if money was no option? Have you visited any of the places on my list? If so, where would you recommend visiting in that particular country or area? And do you agree with the quote that travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer?

The Look Fantastic #LFHelloBeautiful Box

Look Fantastic #LFHelloBeautiful Beauty Box

The fourth in a line of themed boxes (there was the #LFLoves box in February, the #LFExplorer box in March and the #LFBlooms box last month), the #LFHelloBeautiful box is all about celebrating your natural beauty and as a result, this month's products appear to be ones for us to enhance what we were born with. So let's get onto exactly what is included in the May Look Fantastic beauty box;

Best Beauty Box To Buy Or Subscribe To UK

If you've been reading Ellis Tuesday for a while now, then you will probably know just how much I adore The Wet Brush so to see a full sized version of my favourite hairbrush included in this month's box was a real treat. I first discovered The Wet Brush back in 2014 and it immediately transformed the way in which I dealt with my hair. It may sound strange to deem a hairbrush revolutionary but when your hair constantly tangles, particularly when it's wet and even a Tangle Teezer is no match for it, to try out The Wet Brush and have it glide through my hair was a big deal. It's great to have another colour to add to my collection. And the fact that it retails for £11.99 and this whole box is just £15, or cheaper if you take advantage of their subscription options, kind of blows my mind a little. In essence, the brush on it's own and a copy of Elle magazine would quickly take you over the £15 price tag.

The next product that I was immediately happy to see in this month's box was the Eve Lom Cleanser. Even though it's a sample size, what really impressed me was the fact that it came with one of the Eve Lom muslin cloths. When you take into consideration the fact that one of these cloths costs almost £5 to buy on it's own, this certainly elevated this sample to the luxury side of things. The Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Day Cream sample also feels of a similar luxurious quality. Little things like it being in such a great little jar and it being boxed like the full size is, gives the sample that extra touch of glamour.

The little pods of Ioma Paris' Youthful Moisture Cream really do look particularly interesting. I like the fact that they've dispensed daily amounts of the cream when it comes to this sample. I'll certainly be taking this weeks worth of moisturiser with me on my next trip and it really is much better than taking a big tub of cream along with me that will inevitably spill or be too much for a mini break. I was also intrigued to see the Revlon Uniq One All In One Treatment. Anything that promises ten benefits, especially when it comes to hair, has my interested piqued. It also smells of coconut, which can only be a good thing. And a REN sample is always a welcome treat for me when it comes to beauty boxes. This Wake Wonderful Night-Time Serum could potentially be my dream night cream as it feels so lovely on the skin after a long day.

Despite all of this, I have to say, I was a little disappointed to see such a small sample in the form of Decleor's Intense Nutrition Comforting Cocoon Cream. This is the kind of sample that is an added bonus when you buy a full size Decleor product but to have it included in the #LFHelloBeautiful was pretty poor, especially as I'm normally really happy with the size of the products and samples included. Maybe it was just a blip though. I guess we will see when the June box is released.

Look Fantastic Beauty Box Review

Again, like I've reiterated in all of my recent Look Fantastic beauty box reviews, the latest copy of Elle magazine is included alongside the box itself. Whether you're a regular reader or not, this will always be a big plus point for me when it comes to Look Fantastic's beauty box and it sure does make it stand out from similar boxes on the market as a result.

Apart from the tiny Decleor sample, I'm impressed with the May box. It's back to basics beauty theme is one that I really enjoyed and it certainly has you covered when it comes to hair and your skincare routine.

What do you think of the #LFHelloBeautiful beauty box? Have you tried any of the products in this month's box? If so, what are your thoughts on them? And are you a fan of the travel and sample sized products that you mostly find in beauty boxes?

Topshop Bloggers Personal Shopping Event With Forever Yours, Betty (And Summer Wishlist)

Topshop Scottish fashion bloggers event and review

I've got a feeling that a lot of you will already know who this wonderful lady is but just in case you don't, Sheri aka. Forever Yours, Betty is a bit of a blogging phenomenon and girl boss with the most amazing sense of style and tangerine coloured hair.

Last week I was invited along to Topshop's Argyle Street store in the heart of Glasgow City Centre for a preview of the Spring/Summer pieces that are currently hitting stores.

Despite spending a whole lot of time browsing Topshop, both online and in-store, I've never really thought of trying out their Personal Shopping service. I was well aware that it was a free service to use but for some reason or another I thought that it would only be worth both my and the Personal Shopping team's time if I was looking for a complete wardrobe overhaul. This is certainly not the case, as I found out during the event itself.

Topshop Personal Shopping Glasgow Argyle Street

We got a chance to check out the Personal Shopping space which is basically an Instagram lovers dream. Anywhere with velvet soft furnishings, glass jars full of sweets and the latest copies of my favourite fashion magazines is a big hit with me. It was also really lovely to step off the shop floor. Most of the time when I visit a Topshop store, specifically the Argyle Street one, it can be quite busy and there are times that the changing rooms are completely mobbed. The Personal Shopping area, on the other hand, was so serene and relaxed in comparison.

We were also introduced to the Topshop Personal Shopping team as we were ushered towards the back of the store where a fantastic rail of Spring/Summer style was positioned.

Topshop Granny Shoes Trend

Sheri took us through her personal edit of the Spring/Summer collection which she and Personal Shopper Kirsty had put together. As someone who's been loving the bomber jacket trend (I need to let you see the stunning one that I just bought from Zara!), I was happy to see what Topshop's offerings were in regards to it this season.

Sheri's outfits are always on point and whilst I know that there's no way I would be able to pull half of them off like she does, it was great to see the thought process behind the ways in which she puts them together.

Topshop Spring Summer Must-Haves 2016

A personal favourite of mine had to be this particular outfit. Did you know that House of CB is exclusively available here in Scotland in the Argyle Street store? It's definitely worth checking out if you're in or around Glasgow. And who else has been lusting after this absolute dream of a jacket, like I have been?

It was then time to have a good browse of the store. I thought that I would include some of my favourite pieces from the Topshop Spring/Summer collection to even do a bit of an Ellis Tuesday edit for you.

If you can't see the edit directly below then you may need to disable your Adblocker to do so.

After a wander around the store I headed to the changing rooms to try on a few of a my favourite pieces.

Topshop Personal Shopping review

And after doing so I left with one of the pieces from my edit above. Can you guess which one? My fellow blogging beauties Jude and Abbey convinced me that I just had to have them.

Are you a Topshop fan? Have you ever used the Personal Shopping service? If so, what were your thoughts on it? Is there anything in Topshop at the moment that you have your eye on? And who wants to see my purchase of the night feature in an outfit post?

My BAFTA Viewing Party With House Of Fraser

Host Your Own Viewing Party

It's not every day that you get the chance to get all dolled and dressed up but that's exactly what happened for me this weekend. On Sunday night I hosted my very own BAFTA viewing party thanks to House Of Fraser, who were the main sponsors of this year's ceremony. As someone who watches a lot of TV, the BAFTAs are one of my favourite award shows and it's always great to look back at the best TV shows of the year that passed.

BIBA Deep V Maxi Dress Review Blogger

House Of Fraser very kindly provided me with a stunning gown in the form of this Deep V Maxi Dress* from Biba and as soon as I slid it on I instantly felt just like one of the stars in attendance. I took full advantage of the rare and spectacularly sunny weather that we had here in Scotland this weekend and snapped some shots of me in my dress before my guests started to arrive.

BIBA Deep V Maxi Dress

The fit of the dress was fantastic and I absolutely adore the colour of it. When I saw all that blossom at the end of a neighbouring street, I made a mental note to return to take these very pictures as the colour of it really does match that of the dress perfectly.

One thing to bear in mind, especially if you're not the tallest of individuals, is the fact that this really is a maxi dress. I'm 5'5" and had a pair of 4" heels on and even I had to watch as I was traipsing around but since most of my time was spent indoors during my party, that wasn't too much of an issue. It's just something to note if you're thinking of purchasing one of Biba's maxi dresses but I would definitely recommend checking out that range in particular if you're looking for a dress or gown for a formal occasion, be it a wedding, prom or party. And the price point is really reasonable for what is essentially a gown.

I paired the dress with a pair of my favourite earrings, which I got from Accessorize many years ago but I'd definitely make sure to have a look in there if you're looking for something similar. And as for my hair, I decided to sweep it to one side and add a sparkly hair band to mark the suitably glitzy occasion. Again, this was from Accessorize. I managed to snag it for half price in the sales earlier in the year but much like the earrings, you should be able to find a similar style or design in stores now.

Makeup Flat Lay Award Ceremony Celebrity

And here are the products that I used to create my make-up of the night. Sorry that I didn't manage to get a close-up photograph of my look but having dark eye make-up, being as incredibly pale as I am and taking photographs in blinding sunshine really didn't do me or my eyes too many favours. Never have I ever had to delete so many outfit photos where it looked as though I was screwing my eyes up in every shot, even though I know for a fact that I wasn't.

Lancome left me speechless when they sent over some of their best-selling beauty bits to help me achieve that red carpet look. It was something that I definitely wasn't expecting so thank you so much to the team, not only for sending them out to me but for also checking out my blog to see which shades would work best for me. Their Miracle Cushion Fluid Foundation* really is genius. I loved how brilliantly it blended, the way in which it could be applied with a light touch and the fact that despite how it looks in the compact, it actually matched my skin-tone particularly well. This is the lightest shade, Porecelaine 01 for reference. I then picked up my favourite eyeshadow palette of all-time; Urban Decay's Naked 3, using soft champagne shades with beautiful shimmer on my lids. I topped off my eye look with some brilliantly black lashes thanks to Lancome's Hypnose Mascara* and a slick of Benefit's They're Real! Push-Up Liner. I then opted for a pretty nude when it came to my lips with the shade Rose Tea in Lancome's Rouge In Love Lipstick* and I loved the subtle hint of colour it gave my lips. You can find all of these products in the House Of Fraser beauty hall and on their site as well.

All that was left to do was to give myself a few spritzes of the spectacular Bon Bon by Viktor & Rolf, which I was lucky enough to receive from my parents for Christmas last year and then it was time for the party to begin!

Cocktail Making At Home

And what kind of party would it be without some champagne and cocktails? I sipped on the real treat that was Taittinger champagne and even did a spot of cocktail making to try out House Of Fraser's signature cocktail, aptly named the HOFtail. And let me tell you, it was the perfect blend of sweet and sour, aka. my idea of a dream cocktail. If you want to make it yourself the next time you're celebrating or enjoying a hopefully warm Summer's evening, then here's the exact recipe;

Strain 1 Egg White into mixing glass
1.5oz of Dry Gin
3/4oz Lemon Juice
2-3 Raspberries
1/2oz Simple syrup
Dry shake
Add ice and shake for 30 seconds
Strain into cocktail glass

And here's a link to it being made just in case you're not quite Tom Cruise in Cocktail just yet.

BAFTA Awards 2016

It was then time to take our seats with our cocktails and popcorn boxes in hand. The ceremony itself was absolutely fantastic, as it always is and even though some of my favourites left without an award *cough Idris Elba, Louis Thereoux, Charlie Brooker and Travel Man cough*, there were some very deserving winners nonetheless.

Prom Dress Ideas UK

A big thanks, once again, to House Of Fraser for helping me host such a fun and award ceremony worthy evening and for allowing me to dress a bit like a princess for the night. It definitely beat sitting in my pyjamas.

Did you watch this year's BAFTA TV awards? If so, who were your favourite winners? What do you think of my BAFTA look? And how do you normally spend the night when you're watching an award ceremony?

Summer Days vs. Summer Nights

Summer day to night styling

In my last outfit post I stated that I wasn't quite ready to go sans tights, just yet anyway but today my bare legs are making their first appearance of 2016, all because of this stunning floral print wrap front midi dress* from New Look. Also, in that last outfit post, you will have seen me say that I enjoyed showing how I style a specific piece to take it from day to night by only making a couple of adjustments so that's exactly what's happening in today's post too.

Now that it's May I feel like it's okay to finally start uttering the word Summer instead of Spring so that's what inspired today's outfit and the Summer Days vs. Summer Nights nature of it. That and the fact that I watched Grease last night.

Floral Print Wrap Midi Dress

Midi dresses are an absolute must-have when it comes to my Summer wardrobe. It's a way of flashing your pins without having to feel too self conscious about how they look or how much of them is exposed. I'm definitely not one of those girls that can confidently rock a pair of denim shorts in the middle of Summer, especially when I'm in Glasgow and not some tropical paradise but a midi dress shows the perfect amount of leg for me without blinding people with my pasty pins. Most of the midi dresses that I own are the exact same style and made of the same material; jersey, so I definitely took a step outwith my comfort zone when I added this to my basket on a recent trip to New Look. The print was what won me over immediately and I really do love the D-ring style that allows the beautiful material to be cinched in at the waist. And as you saw in my It's A Wrap post, I'm a big fan of a wrap-over top, especially as someone with a bit of a bust. I also loved the fact that the sleeves were almost kimono-like, meaning if you're the kind of person who doesn't like to show off their upper arms, this dress really does cover a multitude of sins.

So here's how I took my midi dress from day to night simply by switching up a couple of the accessories and opting for a change of shoe;

How to style a midi dress this Summer

On a warm Summer's day, either here or abroad, I like to have my hair up off my neck so that's the first thing I did for my daytime look. Normally I just pop in an Invisibobble but I decided to take my Summer accessorising to the next level, as you might be able to see a slight hint of in this particular photo.

And when it comes to daytime dressing, nothing beats a good pair of sandals.

Hotter Tourist Sandals Review

At a recent blog event I was very kindly gifted this stunning pair of sandals. Hotter are a brand that I've always traditionally associated with more of an older clientele but I was pleasantly, pleasantly surprised when I stopped by my local store to be met with so many shoes that wouldn't look out of place in shops like Topshop, and Zara. As soon as I saw this particular pair, the Tourist sandals* in black, I knew that I had found my dream pair.

I won't bore you with too many details but I've never really bought a pair of shoes with comfort in mind which sounds incredibly silly but I've always been motivated by the appearance of the shoe, sandal or trainer, instead of how it feels after wearing them for longer than five minutes. As a result I've worn shoes that have literally torn my feet and toes to shreds. I've even got a scar on the top of my foot thanks to wearing a pair of ill-advised flip flops on holiday in Orlando one year. So trust me when I say that stepping into these sandals was literally like having my feet surrounded by baby soft pillows. It was such a pleasant experience finding a pair of sandals that actually complimented my feet, whilst looking suitably stylish as well, that I certainly won't walk past Hotter anymore. I already have my eye on a new pair of super lightweight trainers from them that fit like a dream after trying them on at the event.

And if you fancy treating yourself to a pair of Hotter shoes, sandals or trainers then I have an exclusive discount code to share with you to take £10 off your first Hotter order plus free delivery. All you have to do is use the code PPATEN on any full priced item from the Hotter range before the 30th of June 2016. Let me know which pair or pairs you pick if you do.

Pom pom hair bands

And as I noticed briefly above, I added a fun twist to my daytime outfit by popping in two pretty little lilac and pink pom pom hair bands*. Why limit a trend like the pom pom one to keyrings and handbags when you can add a few to your hair I say.

Now for my Summer nights look;

What to wear to a Summer wedding

I shook my hair loose and gave it a quick curl to make the outfit look a bit more dressy. I then switched out my super soft sandals for a pair of heels. As someone who's incredibly pale, I always find it difficult to find a pair of nude heels that actually match my skin tone. Well New Look have hit it out of the park with this pair of block heels*. They're also exceptionally easy to walk in, which can't be said for all heels, especially when you're as clumsy as I am.

And a cross body bag is perfect for taking your essentials with you on a night out;

What to take in a clutch bag for an evening out

As soon as I spotted this absolutely gorgeous bag on New Look's website I knew that it had to be mine. Is anyone else a little bit obsessed with iridescent/mermaid style stuff at the moment? I might have also bought a make-up bag and a sunglasses case in this same material from Accessorize and H&M respectively, so expect to see them make an appearance on here and on social media at least a couple of times this Summer. The chain on this iridescent box clutch* is also brilliant as you can wear the chain long, like I have, or double it up to have it as more of a handbag or you can let the chain stay inside it to hold it like a clutch. I'm all for versatility when it comes to cross body bags in particular.

So there you have it, my Summer days vs. Summer nights look. New Look really do have such a great selection, as they always do but it's especially true if you're looking for something to wear to a Summer wedding, a day at the races, prom or even a Summer BBQ. Definitely make sure to check out their Occasion Hub in store and online.

Blossom Scotland

And last but not least, how pretty is the blossom that I managed to capture? I just love this time of year.

So what do you think of today's Summer days to Summer nights outfits? Are you a fan of midi dresses? Or what's your staple piece in the Summer? And what do you think of the individual pieces in today's post?
