Recent Skincare Discoveries

Soap & Glory Glow Job Bright Here Bright Now Monu Collagen Cream My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream Mychelle Pure Harmony Serum Skincare Review Recent Discoveries

I've recently been sent quite a few different skincare products to try out so I thought I would share them with you and let you know what I think of them. I have been testing these five products out in the last month or so to see how they perform over an extended period of time and first up is Soap & Glory's Glow Job* £11

Billed as a tinted moisturiser, Glow Job may be the perfect product for you to try, if like me you are a little wary or apprehensive when it comes to facial tanning products or tinted moisturisers in general. I feel like this product has definitely eased me into that realm of the beauty world. I really am so impressed with this little wonder. Whilst I've been pretty upset that both the La Roche-Posay (link here) and the Beauty UK (link here) CC Creams were a touch too dark for my ghostly pale skin I think I may have found a winner when it comes to this.

Soap & Glory's Glow Job Review Swatch

(From left to right: product as dispensed from tube - product swatched and blended)

When blended the product actually does exactly what it says on the bottle, it gives me a beautiful and rather subtle glow which I think will be perfect for the warmer months. As someone who doesn't tan naturally I think this may be the answer to a pale girl's prayers. Hehe.

It has little bronzer-filled beads dotted throughout the product, which hopefully you can see in the above photograph. Once you rub the lotion into your skin or between your fingers, the cream coloured lotion begins to deepen in colour to a lovely shade. Not too dark or too light for my liking anyway.

My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream Review Swatch Unscented

The next product up is the My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream* £6.99

I'd seen this product appear on a few blogs in the past couple of months so I jumped at the chance to try it out myself. This cream comes in two different scents; lavender and unscented. Now I chose the unscented option but I don't think it's completely unscented as it has a kind of floral scent. I can only assume that this floral scent is that of the sunflower so just bare that in mind if you are looking to try a moisturiser which is completely unscented.

Now this really is a multi purpose moisturiser as it can be used on drier areas of the body such as the elbows and knees as well as on the hands but it also works just as well on the rest of the body too. This cream was developed for patients within the NHS and 100% of the profits generated from the sale of the My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream products go straight back into patient care. I really like that idea and it makes something as simple as buying a moisturising cream make a real difference. Overall I really enjoyed testing out this cream because of how quickly it absorbs into the skin. When you consider how thick the cream is this really impressed me and I'd definitely recommend giving this a try.

MONU Professional Skincare Collagen Cream Review Swatch

MONU Professional Skincare Collagen Cream* £22.50

This cream is absolutely ideal for dry, very dry or dehydrated skin and I cannot believe how well this cream has worked on the dry and flaky patches of skin I have around my T-zone and on my forehead and cheeks. I may not use this for it's anti-ageing benefits just yet so I can't really comment on how it works for fine lines and wrinkles but I can confirm it has really worked wonders for someone with really rather dry skin.

The cream is rich and luxurious, which I really adore and you can feel how hydrating it is on the skin. The rose scent of this product is also so dreamy too. This has already become a staple product in my skincare routine and I am so glad I was given the opportunity to try it out.

Mychelle Dermaceuticals Pure Harmony Serum Review Swatch

Mychelle Dermaceuticals Pure Harmony Serum* £33

Now I had no idea what to expect when it came to this serum but I certainly did not expect it to be bright orange in colour that's for sure. Hehe. Admittedly this is step three of a five step collection so I'm not sure if I really saw the true benefits of this product by trying it out on it's own. I think I may need to try out some of the other products in the Mychelle Dermaceuticals range to see how they work in conjunction with one another.

What I did like was that it didn't irritate or create any issues for my sensitive skin. I don't really struggle with puffiness or swelling personally but this product includes ingredients such as licorice and Vitamin B3 to do just that so if those are issues for you then I would recommend giving it a try to see how it works out for you.

Soap & Glory Bright Here Bright Now Review Swatch

Soap & Glory Bright Here Bright Now* £12

(From left to right: product as dispensed from tube - product swatched and blended)

I adore how luminous this product is! And don't worry about it being too shimmery or glittery, that's not what this product is about. It feels so refreshing on the skin and I don't know whether or not that might be as a direct result of what I really loved about this product, the scent. It's so minty and fresh!

I feel a bit like Regina George in Mean Girls when she inadvertently ends up wearing a minty foot cream on her face but in a good way. Hehe. All I can think when I'm wearing this product is where is my Aaron Samuels? Haha.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it wasn't too long. I actually liked keeping the reviews brief in this kind of context, even though it is tempting for me to ramble on when I start. That's what I've always been told throughout my time at high school and University; "Stop rambling Ellis!" Hehe. So expect more blog posts in the future featuring a few products at the one time.

What skincare products have you been loving recently? Have you tried any of these products? If so, what do you think of them?

GOSH Lip Lacquers

GOSH Lip Lacquers Review Swatches Funky Lips Crispy Lips Sweet Lips Lovely Lips

GOSH Lip Lacquers* £5.99
(From left to right: Crispy Lips 005, Lovely Lips 002, Sweet Lips 003 and Funky Lips 006)

If you read my review of the GOSH Frosted Sand Nail Lacquers (link here) then you will have heard me mention that I had a few more products from GOSH's new Spring/Summer collection to review over the upcoming weeks and months.

I was lucky enough to receive four of their new lip lacquers and it's safe to say I've quickly become besotted with these gorgeous glosses.

GOSH Lip Lacquers Review Swatches Funky Lips Crispy Lips Sweet Lips Lovely Lips

(Swatches from left to right: Crispy Lips 005, Lovely Lips 002, Sweet Lips 003 and Funky Lips 006)

The pigmentation really is exceptional when it comes to these lip lacquers. I've never tried a gloss quite like these before. Even though I've had my eye on a few of the YSL Glossy Stains recently, I think I'll be sticking to the GOSH range of lip lacquers instead. From what I can tell when it comes to the YSL Glossy Stains, I have a feeling that the GOSH lip lacquers could be a very good dupe for these when it comes to the pigmentation and even a few of the shades. At only £5.99 the GOSH version is considerably more purse friendly when you compare it the the £25 YSL price tag. And it is always worthwhile to remember that Superdrug, who stock the GOSH Cosmetics line, regularly run deals and promotions on the GOSH range and store-wide which make reasonable prices even better. The entire range of GOSH Lip Lacquers are currently £3.99 at the moment meaning you can try out a few different shades or stock up on some of your favourites.

If you've read any of my previous reviews of lip glosses (Soap & Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker XL Lip Gloss (link here) and Benefit's Dandelion Ultra Plush Lip Gloss (link here)) then you will know that I'm pretty picky when it comes to glosses. Any that are too sticky are automatically dejected from my make up bag and from my use. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that despite these being very glossy they really weren't too sticky at all. I only had to reapply the lacquer after a good number of hours so I would say that these really do last well considering how glossy they are. Even as the gloss inevitably fades the colour sticks around on the lips which is a huge plus point for me. You basically get the benefits of a lipstick and a lip gloss in the one product.

These also feel so soft on the lips and incredibly nourishing, which may come as no surprise since they are enriched with argan oil and Vitamin E. I can definitely feel a difference to my lips when I remove these at night and even the next morning my lips feel softer than usual, which isn't normally a quality I would associate with a lip gloss.

GOSH Lip Lacquers Review Swatches Funky Lips Crispy Lips Sweet Lips Lovely Lips Packaging

I also really like the packaging. I know that some have said that they have confused these with nail lacquers but since GOSH are billing these are lacquers for the lips I think the packaging is really on point. Plus I tend not to carry my nail lacquers and polishes around with me in my make up bag so I don't think I would make the error of applying these to the nails. Hehe.

What do you think of these lip lacquers? Will you be picking any up whilst they are on offer? If you've tried them out what do you think of them?

What I've Been Watching In: April (With Popchips)

What I've Been Watching In: April (With Popchips) Blog Review

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013)
Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson
As a big fan of the first movie I knew I just had to see this. Unlike the first movie in The Hunger Games franchise, in Catching Fire the tributes are drawn from the pool of existing victors. Which means Katniss and Peeta end up having to face previous Games winners.
Whilst it might take a while for the 75th Hunger Game to actually begin in this movie, the wait is certainly worth it. If you liked the first Hunger Games movie or are a fan of the books then you will probably already have seen this but even if you haven't I would recommend jumping on The Hunger Games bandwagon, especially when Mockingjay Part 1 is out later this year.
I also may have fallen in love with Sam Claflin who plays Finnick. Surely I wasn't the only one? Hehe.

Heathers (1988)
Starring: Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty
As Mean Girls is one of my favourite movies (I mean who doesn't love it?) I'd often heard of a movie called Heathers being mentioned in the same light. I was always intrigued to see if it was anything like my beloved Mean Girls so when I saw it was on Netflix I didn't hesitate to press play.
It is similar in the fact that it centres around the group of popular girls at an American high school. The big difference though, whilst Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) was attempting to overthrow Regina George (Rachel McAdams) in Mean Girls, in Heathers Winona Ryder's character unknowingly ends up murdering the Queen Bee of her clique with a little help from her new boyfriend, played by Christian Slater. It's definitely a darker movie when you compare it to Mean Girls and more of a black comedy but no less enjoyable as a result.

Monsters University (2013)

Starring: Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Helen Mirren
All I can say is how did it take me this long to finally get around to watching this?
I remember seeing the original when it first came out, when I was nine years old, which definitely makes me feel rather old! So the fact that this movie was made really made me incredibly happy. I know some people were a bit disappointed that Boo wouldn't be appearing in this movie but since it is a prequel to the original movie that wouldn't really have made much sense for this movie. I really adored this movie and it had me laughing throughout. Plus it was great to see how Mike and Sully ended up being friends and why Randall ended up the way he is in Monsters Inc. What I really love about Pixar movies is the fact that both children and adults can enjoy their movies and as an adult I feel like a little kid again.

What I've Been Watching In: April (With Popchips)

Urban Legend (1998)
Starring: Jared Leto, Alicia Witt, Rebecca Gayheart, Tara Reid
So technically I watched this movie at the end of March but it was just after I posted my What I've Been Watching In: March post so technically it counts right? Hehe.
This was one of those 90's American teen horror movies that I had heard mentioned in the same light as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Unlike those movies I'd never actually seen this one but had always been a little intrigued to see what it was like. I saw it was on Netflix so decided to give it a try, then I saw Jared Leto's name was attached to it and was automatically sold. I have to say, I really did enjoy this and did jump at a few scenes. The killer, in this case a hooded character, bases their murders on urban legends which did make it pretty interesting and kept you hooked plus there were a few things I didn't see coming. It's the perfect movie to watch if you're in the mood for a bit of a fright and don't mind seeing a young(er) Jared Leto on the screen. And who wouldn't?

Jackass 3 (2010)
Starring: Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Bam Margera
Okay I know this might not be to everyone's taste but I am a big, big fan of the Jackass guys. I've been a fan of them since the very beginning and have loved every single one of the movies, so at Christmas I treated myself to the ultimate collection which includes the three seasons of the TV show and all of the movies, as well as the lost tapes and the Gumball rally. If I'm ever in a bit of a mood or upset or generally just had a bad day at work or something like that I always reach for a Jackass movie that night to make the day all the better and I'm instantly cheered up. Even though I've seen all of the movies and TV seasons multiple times I still laugh every single time I watch them! Is anyone else a fan of the Jackass guys or the Jackass movies?

Inside Man (2006)
Starring: Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, Jodie Foster, Christopher Plummer
This is a movie I saw years ago and really enjoyed. It just so happened to be on TV a couple of weeks ago so I thought I would record it. It's just such a smart movie and if you haven't seen it yet then you really need to! It's very, very clever and there are some wonderful performances in it by the aforementioned actors. The movie centres around an elaborate bank robbery in a Manhattan bank in New York City but trust me, it's not your typical bank robbery movie. You'll constantly be guessing how and if they are going to get away with it.

Popchips Blog Review

Thanks to my new friends at Popchips I've been trying out some of their incredible range of potato chips whilst watching this month's movies. Unlike typical crisps which are normally fried or baked, Popchips are made much like popcorn. And what I really love about Popchips; the fact that there are no fake colours, flavours or preservatives, which means I can eat them and not feel too guilty. Another added bonus; no greasy fingers or hands after you've scoffed an entire packet (or two hehe). I just love how crispy these potato chips are.
Now on to the flavours. I'm not normally a huge fan of barbeque flavoured snacks but these are a whole different story! I also absolutely adore the sea salt and vinegar too which I can confirm are the best salt and vinegar potato chips I have ever tried (and that's saying something)! Popchips really are the perfect accompaniment for a movie marathon and you can find the entire range of products (here).

What have you been watching this month? Do you have any recommendations?

Have you seen any of these? If so, what did you think of them?

La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Cream

La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Cream Creme Review Complete Correction

La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Cream* Was £19.50 Now £16.55

I was recently given the opportunity to review this CC (Complete Correction) cream by Escentual and as soon as they told me it would be a product from La Roche-Posay's range I was rather giddy with excitement. So far I have tried and reviewed their Effaclar Duo [+] and their Cicaplast lip balm (review here), as well a few other products which will be appearing on the blog very soon. These products have quickly become holy grail products for me and ones which I would highly recommend to anyone. So I had a feeling that this might be the CC Cream that I've been looking and longing for. However, as soon as I heard that La-Roche Posay's offering was a universal shade, albeit one which has been adapted to suit fair to medium skin, I was instantly filled with dread and a little deflated, as I had a sneaky suspicion that it would be too dark for me.

La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Cream Creme Review Swatch Complete Correction

(From left to right: product as dispensed from tube - product swatched and blended)

As you can see from the swatches I was right to be a little worried about the universal shade of this product. However, don't let this put you off unless you are as ghostly pale as I am. I'm in the kind of boat where sometimes the lightest possible shade in a brand's foundation, normally entitled 'Ivory' or something along those lines, is far too dark for me. Pale girl problems! Hehe.

What upset me the most about this product was that that was the one and only problem I had with it. Apart from it being a little too dark for my Casper the friendly ghost-esque skin, everything else about this product makes it the dream CC Cream.

It leaves skin feeling dewy and hydrated which was a lovely surprise and the fact that the formula is enriched with La Roche-Posay's Thermal Spring Water makes it so comfortable and almost cooling on the skin. The coverage is also incredibly impressive. Any hints of redness or rosacea basically disappear under this base product and so do blemishes. Another added bonus; the inclusion of sun protection. This product boasts an SPF 30 which really makes this product stand out from many of the other CC Creams on the market. And it also means that regardless of when you wear this cream throughout the year, you are guaranteed protection from harmful UV rays.

Let's get on to the scent of this product, which I absolutely adore. It immediately put me in a summery mood as soon as I dispensed it from the tube. Has it had that effect on anyone else? And if you've been reading my blog for a little while then you will know how much I love a product that has a pump applicator. It just makes everything much easier and more hygienic in my opinion. It also stops too much product being dispensed which is a real bugbear of mine.

If this was slightly lighter I think I would be throwing out all of my other foundations and base products in favour of this but unfortunately the shade means I won't be able to do that which does upset me, as everything else about the product makes it incredible. All I can say to end this review is please, please, please release other shades of this CC Cream La Roche-Posay!

What do you think of CC Creams? Have you ever tried this one? If so, what did you think of it? Are there any CC Creams that you've found that might match my skin tone?

L'Oreal Studio Line #TXT Volume Supersizing Spray

L'Oreal Studio Line #TXT Volume Supersizing Spray Review

L'Oreal Studio Line #TXT Volume Supersizing Spray £3.79

If you saw my Big Savings Haul then you will have seen that I picked up this product for the bargain price of £1.87 at the end of last month. I didn't necessarily need another texturising spray considering I had only just bought the Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce texturising spray a couple of weeks prior but I couldn't just leave it behind when it was less than £2 at the time.

I had heard a lot of mixed reviews when it came to this product but I was eager to give it a try for myself. I now feel, having tried it, that those mixed reviews were probably warranted as there were some aspects of this product that I really adored and others that left me and my hair feeling a little deflated.

It does give your hair hold similar to that of a traditional hairspray but unlike hairspray it leaves your hair with a matte texture. I think this matte effect might be my issue with it. Initially I thought maybe I had sprayed a little too much on and that was causing it to feel a little crispy and dry so tried spraying less to see if that would make a difference and it still felt a little strange. Now you couldn't really tell my hair was noticeably crunchy at the roots just by looking at it but I could feel it, which was the problem. As I often give my roots a little massage mid way through the day, to add a little volume that way, I didn't like the feeling of my hair with this product in it especially when it came to the roots.

The one thing I really did love about this product was the smell. Even though I was wanting to target this spray at my roots to give them an added boost and to increase the volume, I've been spraying it at the ends as well. The reason for this; so I can smell the amazing scent as my hair moves about during the day. I am really rather tempted to try out the rest of the #TXT range just so I can inject this smell into my hair through the use of different L'Oreal Studio Line products.

Speaking of the ends of my hair, I actually prefer the way this works on the lengths of my hair. Unlike the roots which end up weirdly crunchy, a light mist of the spray over the rest of my hair really gives it a nice effect. But considering I had purchased this hoping for added volume at the roots it was a bit of a letdown to find it really did nothing, well nothing good anyway, for that area of my hair. Saying that, it won't stop me spraying it on the rest of my hair in the future.

If you are looking for more of a budget texturising spray then I would give this a try, if not for the smell of it alone but if I was to choose between this product and the Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray I think the Charles Worthington product would win every time. This product isn't a complete miss for me as it does have some pro points but unfortunately it didn't quite work in the way I had hoped it would.

Have you tried this spray yet? If so, what did you think of it? Are there any other volumising and texturising sprays you've tried?

Beauty UK Prime FX Primers

Beauty UK Prime FX Primers Review Foundation Eye Shadow primer

So I feel like I'm a little late to the party when it comes to primers. I have no idea how I've managed to resist trying out primers for this long as I have long been intrigued by a number of primers over the years. The prime examples (pardon the pun hehe) being Benefit's The Porefessional, Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion and I still can't believe I haven't picked up Maybelline's Baby Skin to try it out yet.

So when I saw that Beauty UK, a real favourite bargain beauty brand of mine, had not one, but two primer products I knew I just had to try them out and finally hop on the primer bandwagon.

The Prime FX range from Beauty UK comprises of a foundation primer and an eye shadow primer both of which I was really excited to try out.

Beauty UK Prime FX Primers Review Foundation Eye Shadow primer swatches

(From left to right: foundation primer swatched, blended and eye shadow primer swatched, blended)

I think you can see from the swatches the different consistencies of the two products. I only blended the foundation primer very lightly, which has a gel like quality to it, so that's why it still looks quite wet on the skin. The eye shadow primer has been blended fully.

Beauty UK Prime FX Foundation Primer Review

Beauty UK Prime FX Foundation Primer* £3.99
As you can see above, the primer is not that dissimilar in texture from Benefit's The Porefessional or Maybelline's Baby Skin. The big difference though; the price.
If, like me, you are making your first foray into the world of primers such as this one then I would definitely recommend trying this out to see if it's the right product for you first. Whilst I don't ordinarily wear foundation of a day-to-day basis I do think this would help increase the longevity of your foundation.
But for me I was using this primer on it's own to achieve that dewy, fresh faced look that I love during the warmer months and that's exactly what this product gives you. It acts as a bit of blur for noticeable pores as well which I was really impressed by. Considering it's a fraction of the price of some of the other primers on the market, in my opinion it does exactly what the others are promising and much like the packaging of the Beauty UK CC Cream, which I loved, I adore the packaging of this product. I think it looks so sleek and stylish and doesn't scream "I'm from one of the more budget make up lines."

Beauty UK Prime FX Eye Shadow Primer* £3.49
As I mentioned above, I've been coveting the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion for many years but I was always a little bit unsure. I don't know about you but I'm always a little hesitant to pick up a product that I'm not sure if I really need. But now that I've tried this little wonder I'm really tempted to try it out in comparison with the aforementioned Urban Decay product as I think it could be a bit of a dupe.
I didn't know what to expect from this product but I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely base shade on the end of the wand. The big thing for me about this product, even above the longevity, which I also must rave about since it literally lasted all day, was the fact that my eye shadow did not crease. I repeat, did not crease. I have tried this as a base under eye shadows from different brands with different pigmentations and finishes and the results were exactly the same every time. I'm now thinking to myself, how did I go this long without a product like this in my make up bag?

So what do you think of primers? Do you wear them? If so, what primers do you swear by? Have you tried either of these two offerings from Beauty UK?

Stylfile Nailcare Collection

Stylfile Nailcare Collection review S-file, Emergency file and S-buffer

Stylfile Nailcare Collection £11.99
(From left to right: S-file, Emergency file and S-buffer)

I've posted several nail related posts recently. From the OPI Muppets Most Wanted Nail Lacquers to the Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter to the fourth Nails Inc polish in my Nails Inc Nail Diary, it has been all about nails in the past week. So I thought I would end my little run of nail related posts with the one range I cannot go without when it comes to my nails; Stylfile.

Me and my mum both bought the S-file as soon as it was first released. We were big fans of contestant and winner Tom Pellereau
(aka. Inventor Tom) and even bigger fans of The Apprentice itself, so this was one product we knew we just had to try out.

Stylfile S-file Review

Stylfile S-file* £4.49
The S-file is easily the best nail file that I have ever tried. Whilst other files tend to rip, tear and lose their effect really rather quickly, the S-file is still going strong even eighteen months down the line. The S-file lasts up to twelve months but I can assure you that both my original S-file and the one that my mum has been using have lasted well over eighteen months now and still work as well as they did when we first bought them.
The ergonomic design of the entire Stylfile range means the file follows the natural shape of the nail making it much easier to manoeuvre. I find this especially true when I'm using my left hand, which isn't the hand that I write with. All I can say is, if you've never tried the S-file and are struggling to find a nail file that actually lasts more than a couple of weeks then you need to try this out as soon as possible.

Stylfile Emergency File Review

Stylfile Emergency File* £4.49
As a huge fan of the S-file already, the one product that I was the most excited to try was the Emergency File. As soon as I laid eyes on it I was instantly intrigued. Firstly, I adore that this product is called the Emergency File. Anyone who watched Tom's series of The Apprentice should remember the emergency biscuit idea, which I for one was all for. Hehe. The fact that this can be added to a keyring is simply ingenious especially if you have a handbag like mine which is filled to the brim. It also means I can take care of any catches or breaks on the go. The spiral casing protects the file whilst simultaneously protecting the items in my handbag from being scratched as well. An extra file is also included in this pack which means you can keep one on your keys and one at home, which also makes this product incredible value for money, in my opinion, too.

Stylfile S-buffer review

Stylfile S-buffer review

Stylfile S-buffer* £4.99
The Stylfile S-buffer comprises of four sections which work in different ways to keep your nails looking great. I use the S-buffer after I've used the S-file to make sure my nails are relatively equal in length and then it's time to start the quick four step process.
Section 1 is used gently on the nail bed to remove any problem areas, this is then followed by section 2 which is all about removing ridges from the nails. I've had a particularly ridged thumbnail which is slowly but surely improving every time I rub the blue section (section 2) over it. Then section 3 smooths the nail further and section 4 adds shine. I actually use the white section (section 4) on a daily basis to keep my nails looking as shiny as possible and it really does make a difference to the overall appearance of my nails.

You can buy each of the three products shown above separately but if you'd like to buy all three and save yourself a bit of money then you can buy them in the one collection. The Stylfile Nailcare collection works out at £11.99 for the three products together.

Have you tried anything from the Stylfile range? If so, which product from the range is your favourite and why?

Nails Inc Nail Polish Diary: April

Nails Inc Sloane Avenue

This month's nail polish is Sloane Avenue, a neon coral shade.

I tend to be a bit funny when it comes to coral nail polishes as I am really rather pale and when I say pale I mean ghostly white. So whenever I would wear my favourite coral nail polish in my teens my mum would always say that my hands looked like the hands of a corpse. I feel that may have put me off purchasing more coral nail polishes since then. Hehe. But I was actually really glad to find one in my Nail Polish Diary. I thought to myself, if Nails Inc can't make a coral nail polish that suits me then what chance do I have? And they have definitely pulled it out of the bag with this beautiful and vibrant neon coral.

I feel like this shade would suit any skin tone or colour and would be the perfect polish to wear in the spring and summer months. Sometimes neon shades can be a little too bright and acerbic for my tastes but this one has just the right amount of glow for me. Could you imagine wearing this with a tan? I guess I can really only imagine that since I never do tan. Hehe.

Again I was really impressed that I could have gotten away with just the one coat of this polish as it covers the nail very easily. I played it safe and applied two coats to really get the full effect of this luminous colour. What did surprise me though was this polish dried with a bit of a matte effect. I don't think I've had a polish from Nails Inc with this effect before but it really was a pleasant surprise. However, if you don't like the feel or the look of polishes that dry matte then you can easily pop on a glossy top coat to remedy that.

You don't appear to be able to buy this polish on it's own but I have been reliably informed that TK Maxx have been selling the Nail Polish Diary in the past couple of weeks. So if there have been a few shades or limited edition polishes that you have fallen for in the Nail Polish Diary then I would definitely get down to your local TK Maxx as soon as you can, to see if you can pick it up at a bargain price knowing TK Maxx.

What do you think of this neon coral nail polish offering from Nails Inc? Do you prefer to wear pastel polishes or brights when it comes to the spring and summer months?

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter Review Pot

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter £6.50

I already posted a little sneak peek of this product over on my instagram where so many of you expressed an interest in it, so I couldn't wait to share my review with you any longer.

Does anyone else get completely drawn in when they walk by a Lush store? There are so many amazing looking products and a real mix of different fragrances and scents that it can sometimes feel a little overwhelming when you first enter the store. However, I had made a trip specifically to pick up a gift set for Mother's Day (which, of course, my mum absolutely loved). But in the process I just had to get myself a little treat whilst I was there. It would have been rude not to, wouldn't it? Hehe. My nails aren't always in the best of shape and my cuticles often get a little dry and unruly so this product immediately caught my eye. I don't give my cuticles much attention at all despite my blatant addiction to buying nail polishes, which seems a little silly.

Even though this product is billed as a cuticle butter don't let that fool you into thinking it can only be used on your hands and nails. It can also be used on your elbows, knees and heels which normally take quite a bit of moisturising to get soft, in my case anyway. Since I started using this product I've found that my elbows and knees in particular have never been as soft. And my cuticles, well they have definitely improved too. A little really goes a long way with this product as it is just so thick and creamy. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I've hardly made a dent to the amount of product in the pot.

The scent may be a little overpowering for some but for me it's just what I would expect from a product called Lemony Flutter. I absolutely love that my hands smell so lovely and lemony after I apply this. If you aren't a huge fan of lemon scented products then I would definitely recommend a trip to your local Lush store to see if this product scent is for you. For me it smells good enough to eat and instantly reminds me of lemon curd every time I open the pot. If lemon fragrances aren't normally your thing I would definitely look past that and give it a try or pop down to your local Lush store to give it a sniff and a little test. I'm not normally a big fan of lemony scents but this product is just too good to resist. It really does do what it says on the pot and provides real moisture to your problem areas. Plus I do love a good multi-use product so I've certainly been won over by this cuticle butter from Lush.

What are your favourite products from Lush? Do you have any recommendations for what I should try out next? Have you tried out the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter before? If so, what do you think of it?

OPI Muppets Most Wanted Nail Lacquers

OPI Muppets Most Wanted Nail Lacquers Set Duo Review Swatches

OPI Muppets Most Wanted Nail Lacquers £11.50 each
(From left to right: Miss Piggy's Big Number, Muppets World Tour, Gaining Mole-mentum and Kermit Me To Speak)

If you saw my Big Savings haul the other day then you will have seen that I managed to pick up these beautiful OPI duos in the Beauty Bay sale for only £11.02. Considering that OPI lacquers retail for £11.95 now, here in the UK, I'm so glad that I managed to find such an amazing deal on this newly released and highly anticipated collection.

When I heard OPI were releasing a second Muppets collection to coincide with the release of the new Muppets movie, Muppets Most Wanted, I couldn't wait to see what shades and more precisely, glitters, they would include. I think we can all remember the buzz and excitement created by the Rainbow Connection glitter from the first collection which inspired so many different dupes. But for me the first Muppets OPI collection was all about Excuse-Moi! It's easily one of my favourite nail polishes of all time and it's just the perfect glitter, which can be worn all year round. To say I had big expectations for this new collection might be a bit of an understatement but I have certainly not been disappointed with the ones I managed to get my hands on.

Miss Piggy's Big Number OPI Muppets Most Wanted Nail Lacquers Set Swatches Review Duo

I wasn't sure if I needed Miss Piggy's Big Number as I have quite a few navy shades in my collection already but I just had to have Muppets World Tour so I gave in and purchased the Romancing the Frog duo. I am so glad that I did as it really isn't your typical navy shade. It seems much more vibrant and sapphire like than similar blues I've tried out in the past. This was a little sheer compared to some of the other OPI lacquers I have tried in the past but after two coats I gained my desired effect, as shown here.

Muppets World Tour OPI Muppets Most Wanted Nail Lacquers Set Swatches Review Duo

Muppets World Tour was the one polish that I was the most excited to try and for me this is the one you just have to buy from this collection if you only buy one. I haven't seen anything like this from any other nail polish brand and it really did amaze me. This is just one coat of Muppets World Tour over Miss Piggy's Big Number and just look at it! Unlike some other glitters, this doesn't take a thousand and one coats to get some of the glitter from the bottle onto the nails. This polish gives you such a great glitter payoff.

Gaining Mole-mentum OPI Muppets Most Wanted Nail Lacquers Set Swatches Review Duo

Gaining Mole-mentum is a glitter like no other. It's basically a shredded glitter which is something I really haven't seen a lot of from any other nail polish brands either. I was a little worried that it might be jaggy or a little strange on the nail but I really didn't have a problem with it at all. I have applied two coats of this over Kermit Me To Speak and I simply adore the gold, silver and rose gold flakes in this polish. It's absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to try it over different shades.

Kermit Me To Speak OPI Muppets Most Wanted Nail Lacquers Set Swatches Review Duo

Kermit Me To Speak is a beautiful duo-chrome shade which shifts between so many different shades. In some lights it looks purple in others bronze and in others it even has a greenish tint. Again this felt a little sheer when I had applied just one coat so I made sure to apply two coats here.

So those are the four polishes that you can find in the Muppets Most Wanted duo sets. I just wish they had the other polishes from the collection in duos as well but maybe then I would have ended up buying the entire collection. Hehe. Like all limited edition OPI collections make sure you get them while you can. I can't tell you how many times I've thought I'll just wait until the collection goes into the sale. And this is normally a good few months after they have been released. By that time they have often vanished from stores and online meaning I end up regretting not buying them when I had the chance. This basically happened to me with the Katy Perry collection all those years ago. So hopefully they will get more of these duos back in stock on Beauty Bay soon.

What has your favourite OPI collection been? And what do you think of the Muppets Most Wanted collection? Are you a fan of OPI or what other brands are your favourites when it comes to nail polish?
