Every Summer I look forward to the Summer sales. For some it's a love it or hate it kind of shopping experience but when there's savings like these to be had it's hard for me not to flock to the sales in some of my favourite stores. As you might be able to tell from what I purchased this Summer, Accessorize is the first Summer sale that I head to without fail. Well they do only hold their sales bi-annually after all. And I think that it's safe to say that I went a little jewellery (and accessories) crazy in there this year and a lot of that had to do with the fact that my favourite kind of earring; the ear jacket featured quite heavily in the sale. I'd seen a few ear jacket style earrings in Accessorize prior to the sale starting and I'm glad that I held out for the sale as I got every single pair with 50% off.
As soon as I saw the Star range of ear jackets I was immediately sold and despite the fact that that range is typically aimed at a teenage audience, I couldn't leave any of the adorable pairs of Star earrings behind. And talk about affordable! All of the Star earrings were originally £3 a pair (what a deal to begin with!), which meant that they instantly dropped to £1.50 each which was just too good a saving to pass up on and why I probably went a little crazy with my purchasing.
Then I got a little more sophisticated in my choice of ear jackets when I spotted two utterly stunning pieces from their Sterling Silver line. The first, a twinkly and sparkly pair which were originally £12 down to £6 and the second being a vintage inspired pair of pearl earrings with a dainty bejwelled floral stud, which were £10 down to £5.
Then I couldn't stop myself from adding a few more floral pieces to my jewellery collection. And since I already own the pair of earrings to match, I started with the gorgeous daisy necklace. The necklace was reduced from £10 to £5 and I had actually been waiting for it to go down into the sale so I was happy to see one left in my local Accessorize store.
Next up were a few pairs of floral studs. A super cute daisy pair from the Star line again. These were only 75p (down from £1.50)! Then a tiny and dainty pair of vintage inspired floral studs down to £1.50 from £3 and a pair of stunning teal green sparkly studs for the same price. I rounded off my earring spree with a pair, in a similar style to a pair that I probably bought about eight years ago when I would have been in high school, that I know will go with so many outfits. These were £6 down to £3. I don't think that I need to go jewellery shopping for quite a long time now but who am I kidding.
Then I saw this adorable little coin purse. Accessorize always seem to get it just right when it comes to novelty style pieces and this Bon Voyage purse is no different. It was also down from £8 to £4 which didn't break the bank and I don't really have a coin purse that you can fit cards in either so this was a perfect purchase.
I then noticed, a bit further down Buchanan Street in Glasgow, that Paperchase had a sale on too and whilst I only intended on browsing I ended up with an adorable little mug with one of my favourite online pups on it. It's really no secret that I'm a big fan of Boo 'The World's Cutest Dog', to give him his full name. Hehe. And if you've been reading Ellis Tuesday for a while then you might remember that I bought both Boo and his best friend Buddy in stuffed toy form when I was in Florida last year (link here) and that I received a couple of Boo related gifts for Christmas last year (link here). So as soon as I spotted this I knew that it had to be mine.
This was another 'I can't leave you behind' sale purchase and the fact that they only had one pair left in my size pretty much cemented that notion. These immediately reminded me of a pair of Swedish Hasbeens that I saw a few years back and then add leopard print into the equation and you're onto a winner for me. These were down to £15 which seemed pretty reasonable for a pair of Summer sandals like these from Topshop of all places.
I'm a big fan of cross body bags, as you might be able to tell and I'd seen both of these bags a few months ago but resisted until now. Despite having quite the extensive collection of cross body bags, I actually didn't have a plain black one or a metallic one. This is as about as plain a plain black bag is for me. Hehe. The coppery gold studs made this a no brainer of a purchase as did the £7.50 price-tag, down from £15.
Then there's the metallic emerald green bag from Zara. I had seriously contemplated buying it at full price but when I went back to buy it the following weekend it had disappeared. I pretty much gave up all hope of finding it in store again so you can imagine how happy I was when I saw it sat on the sale shelf and this was weeks after the sale had started. I absolutely adore the shade of green and the big chunky metal strap It was also down to £12.99 in Zara. What a steal eh?!
So what do you think of my Summer sale buys? Have you managed to find any bargains or savings in the Summer sales this year? If so, what have you been buying?
