You might, or might not have, noticed that I've been rather absent from the blog and from social media over the past week or so and I have a spate of ill health to blame for that. I'm still feeling absolutely rubbish but thankfully I had the majority of this blog post written before I fell ill.
Instead of today's post being like last month's 'Month Of..." post (link here), which included what I had been watching, reading and been up to that month, this month I decided to solely make this post about sharing the blog love with you. So here are ten of my very favourite blog posts that I read in July.
Heatproof Summer Makeup - Even though it's not been feeling all that Summer-like here in the UK recently (where are you Summer?!), Sophie's post on Heatproof Summer Makeup had me wishing that it was warm and sunny enough to put her tips to good use. And talk about gorgeous photography too! I've made sure to bookmark this post for when I go on holiday next year so that I can use it as a little list to tick off what I need to take with me then.
How To Stay Motivated When Working From Home - Corrie's tips on how to stay motivated when working from home made for great reading this month. Written in her typically engaging and bubbly way, her tips would work equally well for those of us who blog as a hobby and those who work on University or College work at home. That being said, I am sitting here typing this post up in my pyjamas but that's totally acceptable when you're not feeling well isn't it? Hehe.
Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher & Eyes To Mesmerise - After months and months of lusting after essentially the entire Charlotte Tilbury range I've still yet to place an order. Well that order is looking even more likely now that I've read Lily's review of two of the most beautiful beauty products that I've ever seen. And how stunning is Lily's photography too?
Moving To London And Starting A New Job - Finding out about Sarah's incredible opportunity working for Soap & Glory and moving to London has definitely inspired me. I just wish that I was as brave about moving to pursue a career that I've been dreaming about for years now. Considering the fact that jobs up here in Scotland are few and far between compared to London, it might need to be something that I seriously consider further down the line. But I am so proud and happy for Sarah, even if I am a tiny bit jealous that she is working for one of the greatest companies ever. Hehe.
Primark To Collaborate With Velvetgh0st? - I know that bloggers, vloggers and YouTubers releasing books, merchandise and products can be a bit of a heated topic but when I think about the products on the shelves of my local Superdrug (Zoella's, Tanya Burr's, Sam & Nic's Real Techniques and Ruth Crilly's COLAB) I can honestly say that I respect each and every one of them. The same can't be said for Velvetgh0st. Beth's blog post perfectly sums up my thoughts on the Velvetgh0st/Primark collaboration. I have absolutely no idea why a brand, one as big as Primark, would want to work with a bad role model and a bully with a bad reputation. The whole thing baffles and bugs me frankly.
Beauty Bargains #1 - I'm all for a good bargain so Hannah's post on some incredible deals and savings on a whole host of fantastic products and brands really made me smile. I love stumbling across a great buy and with Hannah's Beauty Bargains posts she's taken all the hard work out of doing that for you. Just make sure to jump on any of the deals as quickly as you can as most don't stick around for too long.
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Blusher - Okay so this might quite possibly be the most beautiful beauty product that I've ever seen and that really is saying something. Saida's review of the stunning Baked Gelato Blusher from Laura Geller has certainly tempted me to finally give the range a try and the fact that Escentual now stock it has twisted my arm even further. It's just so beautiful!
Christmas In July In Pictures - It's totally acceptable to be getting excited about Christmas already now isn't it? Who's with me? Well the fact that many brands and companies have had their 'Christmas In July' events (sadly the majority have been in London) has had me glued to social media and some of my favourite bloggers' accounts to see just what products will be getting added to my Christmas list this year. Kat has amalgamated all of her snaps into one post and I couldn't be more excited! I've definitely already got my eye on the new range of Alphabet Bags.
What blogs and blog posts have you really enjoyed reading this month? Are there any blogs that you've discovered recently that you would like to share? And what do you think of a 'Sharing The Blog Love' post appearing on more of a monthly basis over on Ellis Tuesday?
