Ellis Tuesday's Summer Sun-days: Sun Protection La Roche-Posay Ark Skincare Superdrug Solait

Whilst getting ready to bare parts of your body, which in my case haven't seen sunlight since last summer, (see post here). And perfecting your summer locks (see post here) may seem pretty vital. Sun protection really is the most important summer essential. Whether you're planning a holiday abroad this summer or thinking of soaking up some rays (fingers crossed) here in the UK. You need to think about what form of sun protection is right for you. And which one you'll be applying as the weather gets warmer. Which is why I'm sharing my best sunscreen for face and body today;

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Spray SPF 50 Beauty Review

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Spray SPF 50+* £19.00

I think this is going to be my must have product this summer when it comes to sun protection. It reminds me of milk, in a good way. I wasn't really sure how to describe it without comparing it to milk. Hehe. It instantly cools the skin and absorbs quickly without leaving any grease or oily residue.

What I really adore about this product, above and beyond the incredible level of protection and the texture of the lotion itself. Is the fact that it is a spray. It just makes such a big difference when you're in a rush. Or when you don't want to spend forever and a day applying sun protection products to the full body.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Protective Oil SPF 50 Beauty Review

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Protective Oil SPF 50+* £17.50 (Now £11.67)

Normally when I think of oils being used in the sun all I can think of is people getting burnt to a crisp. Let's just say, I've never associated oil with sun protection before. Which is why I was a little dubious when it came to trying this out. But the fact that it has an SPF of 50+ certainly put me at ease and made me step out of my comfort zone a little.

For those of you who are already fans of using oils in conjunction with your sun tanning routine. This product really is the best of both worlds. It can be used on both the face and the body. But I've personally only been using it on my body. I'll be using the Face Comfort Cream for facial sun protection myself. It's not greasy at all, which was definitely my main concern with this oil. And it dries with such a beautiful sheen too, leaving the skin looking and feeling incredibly luxurious.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Face Comfort Cream SPF 30 Beauty Review

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Face Comfort Cream SPF 30

As I mentioned above, this is the product that I'll be using for facial sun protection this summer. Designed specifically as a comfort cream, this offering from La Roche-Posay feels beautiful on the skin. I think this might be as a result of the La Roche-Posay thermal spring water. Which is a main component in this cream, as well as the rest of the Anthelios range. Not only does it protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays. But it definitely cools down the skin which is really ideal on a warm summer's day.

Superdrug Solait Hair & Scalp Sun Spray SPF 30 Superdrug Solait Wet Skin SPF 30 Beauty Review

Superdrug Solait Wet Skin SPF 30

If you spend your summer or your summer holidays in the pool or the sea then this is the product you need to pick up. Whilst some traditional lotions and sprays don't cope too well in the water. This product is designed specifically for wet skin. Even though this is the case you do need to remember to reapply this throughout the day, as you would need to with any of the sun protection products mentioned in this blog post.

Superdrug Solait Hair & Scalp Sun Spray SPF 30

I've lost count of the amount of times I've burnt my scalp on a sunny day. When it comes to traditional sun lotions and sprays. The last place you would ever think of applying them is on your scalp. Even thinking about applying sun lotion in my hair makes me feel a little queasy. This product, on the other hand, is for exactly that purpose. And since it is designed specifically for the hair and the scalp, it means no more burnt scalps or sweaty heads from wearing a sun hat all day everyday on holiday.

Superdrug Solait Moisturising After Sun Spray Beauty Review

Superdrug Solait Moisturising After Sun Spray

An after sun product really is a summer necessity for me. And as this is a spray it makes it even more wonderful. Applying after sun isn't always the nicest of tasks. It normally means you've gotten a bit too much sun or you've forgotten to apply sun protection often enough (or at all). But this is so quick and easy to apply that your skin will soon be feeling soothed and refreshed. I'd definitely recommend picking this up to be used with your choice of sun protection this summer.

Ark Skincare Anti-Ageing Skin Protector SPF 30 Primer Beauty Review

Ark Skincare Anti-Ageing Skin Protector SPF 30 Primer

Now just because it's not exactly sunny every day during the summer doesn't mean you should neglect applying some form of sun protection on a daily basis. With this product from Ark Skincare, you can inject sun protection into your make up routine without having to apply an additional product.

Since this primer boasts an SPF 30 it means it's also a great product to use all year round. It can be worn on it's own, even though it's a primer, or as intended by applying this under a myriad of base products.

So those are some of my top picks when it comes to the best sunscreen for face and body.

So what products are essential for you when it comes to sun protection? Have you tried any of these products? If so, what do you think of them?
