Make It Mineral with Sheer Cover Studio

Sheer Cover Studio Introductory VIP Kit

I was recently challenged by Sheer Cover Studio to Make It Mineral by giving up all of my everyday make up products in favour of Sheer Cover Studio for one week. I've always been incredibly interested in trying mineral make up, especially as my skin is rather sensitive and I don't wear heavy make up on a day to day basis.

Sheer Cover Studio provided me with their Introductory VIP Kit* which consists of their Perfect Shade Mineral Foundation, a Conceal & Brighten Trio, Sun-kissed Bronzing Minerals, a Lengthening Mascara, Lash Extending Fibers and three brushes.

Sheer Cover Studio Perfect Shade Mineral Foundation

Step 1: Foundation
Now this is the real standout product from the kit for me! I don't normally wear foundation on a day to day basis as I'm really not a fan of heavy coverage, plus I'm normally far too lazy on an early morning before work to spend more than five minutes doing my make up. But this foundation makes all the difference for me. It really does give that airbrushed look, one I never thought I would be able to achieve, with very minimal effort. All it takes is a couple of swipes of the wonderful brush included with this kit and I'm done. You genuinely don't feel like you're wearing makeup at all, which again is a real bonus as it feels so lightweight. You can also easily build up the amount of coverage if you need to. Another added bonus, as if I really needed another for me to fall in love with this foundation, was that my skin felt baby soft the day after I removed it. Normally my skin feels patchy and a little drier than normal the day after I remove a face of make up but not with this product at all. I've definitely been won over by this mineral foundation.

Sheer Cover Studio Concealer Trio Conceal & Brighten Trio

Step 2: Concealer
I love how this concealer has three separate colours included in the one palette. You have a lighter and slightly darker concealer so you can get a perfect colour match when it comes to your skin tone. This for me is such a great idea. Normally you buy a concealer and in the warmer months it's too light or in the winter months it's too dark so I end up having to buy at least two separate concealers. This, on the other hand, gives you the ability to mix your own concealer colour with ease. The highlighter is another welcome addition to the Conceal & Brighten Trio and the products themselves are incredibly creamy on the skin and don't go on too heavy when it comes to the under eye area. It's definitely made me think about my traditional concealer choices.

Sheer Cover Studio Lengthening Mascara Lash Extending Fibers

Step 3: Lashes
The one product I was the most intrigued with and excited to try out was the Lash Extending Fibers. I've never tried anything like this before and I'm certainly glad I could have a little play about with these two products. So what you do is you apply one coat of the lengthening mascara followed by a coat of the lash extending fibers and then another coat of the mascara.
My only issue with this mascara is that I tend to avoid lengthening mascaras as I normally prefer to increase the volume of my lashes instead of the length. But if you are a fan of lengthening mascaras then this is a really interesting combination to try out when you add in the idea of using fibers to lengthen your lashes too.

Sheer Cover Studio Sun-kissed Bronzing Minerals

Step 4: Finishing Touches
I never use bronzer. Actually, I did once use a bronzer which had flecks of glitter in it when I was a teenager, what was I thinking? Trust me the bronzer look certainly did not look good on someone as ghostly pale as myself. So ever since then I have shuddered a little when I've seen bronzers on the make up stands. This meant I was a little apprehensive when it came to trying this one product in particular but you can apply it so it only gives a subtle glow, which is perfect for me. And most importantly, this mineral bronzer doesn't have a single speck of glitter in it. Hallelujah! Why do they even make bronzers with glitter in them?

So I can certainly say that I've been converted when it comes to mineral make up. Not only did it provide me with such a flawless finish but my make up took half the time it normally would if I was using the equivalent products to these. As you can probably already tell, it was all about the mineral foundation for me. Sheer Cover Studio have not only converted me to mineral make up but they've actually persuaded me to use foundation on a daily basis.

I just want to thank Sheer Cover Studio again, as well as the wonderful Ellie, for the incredible opportunity to get involved in this challenge. You can get your hands on this Introductory VIP kit on Sheer Cover Studio's website for £29.99 which when you consider the amount of products you are getting for the price is really a pretty fantastic deal.

What do you think of my overall look? Do you wear mineral make up? And have you ever tried Sheer Cover Studio?
